For name changes, the PROFILE verb would likely keep a running list of former names.

Yeah but what context? Like is it for illegal names and then you were forced sent to the name change lounge?

Or was it like yeah we're doing name changes, oh and to keep track of all your previous names, we'll use profile.

Letting the other players be able to tell seems to be the intention, so that scammers and other dubious types cannot just screw people over and then pay for a name change to start the process anew.

I don't think this is going to happen anytime soon.

As I mentioned, nothing in the foreseeable future. If we did consider it, we would almost certainly make sure the running list of names was accessible to everyone (likely via PROFILE). Things like BEFRIEND and DEMEANOR would stay in place so you'd know who is who easily there. But like I said, there are no current plans.
