If I remember correctly, no one was 100% opposed to opening schools, as long it could be done safely. With the vaccine being distributed, better understanding of the virus and a president that’s actually going to listen to scientist and medical experts.. I feel more safe opening schools now, than before.

No, that soundbite -- presented with no context -- was from Fauci in January 2020, of the NIH, not the CDC, and he was talking about actions the average person had to worry about at that point, emphasizing that the CDC and DHS were doing what they needed to do, not to "worry," but to "take it seriously" and stay tuned to the CDC and DHS.
