This seems to be how it works, at least if group member are contributing to the kill.
What I'm not sure of is if that makes group hunting super inefficient now as far as loot goes, or if the "loot pressure" is split evenly between group members or rotates or how that part works. I'm sure Simu went with whatever will fuck the group over the most, since that's how they typically roll.
If so then gg Simu for disincentivizing group hunting across the board.
I usually run 3 characters and it seems to be around 25m for me, and it feels like I'm pretty close to the hard cap now.
I think they set it so the entire group gets fucked, so soloing 3 characters until loot cap > group hunting 3 characters until cap regardless of who's looting.
I don't see how this would add up, since Simu makes most of their money from DR, where whales and farming will remain business as usual.
DR will also be the new big source of silvers.
The problem here is even for people who don't sell silvers, now there's really nothing left to do at cap. Loot at least made things interesting, and Ascension is bland as fuck and I don't expect it to get anymore creative than just more +1 to stuff.
I'm probably downgrading my Premium account after DR, and will probably consolidate my other 2 accounts until the following DR in August or whenever.
You can't take away the one thing that's left to do at "end game" and expect the long time players you just took a shit on to keep throwing money at the game.
Even without cash sales involved, loot is still capped, so your argument falls apart instantly.
Some people farm silvers so they can run DR without throwing cash directly at Simu. Simu still makes their money, but I'll be surprised if books for silvers doesn't go away entirely at some point due to this.
There also hasn't been a global pandemic that kept most of the world at home for the entire year since the GS3/4 conversion either. Take that away and then let's see how that podcast would have gone.
I don't think this is the case. Earlier this month I'd run around solo after loot was down for Methais, then once I had my alts join the groupo and start contributing to kills, loot picked back up noticeably. If they weren't contributing to kills, loot seemed to go back down.
It's because Veggie = macgyver.
Someone's jelly that they can't play GS while at their gay porn fluffer job. Sorry macgyver.
This. I can understand the need for some sort of loot cap with Jah going ape shit with his MA army, but yeah they swung it way too far in the opposite direction.
This is standard practice for Simu though. Swing the pendulum too far, make things even worse, downplay it, then leave it like that forever and tell the players they should be grateful.
I don't need a spreadsheet or to parse through my logs to realize that I went from making a few million a day for years, to pulling in almost nothing now, and other things like how magnificent quality skins are worth like 10 silvers for me right now instead of their normal rates, going from filling up on boxes in like 5-10 minutes, with almost all of said boxes having awesome loot in them, to finding hardly any boxes at all throughout the entire day now, etc.
Numbers don't lie, and most people are reporting similar numbers with loot cap stuff. It's not just people "feeling" like they're pulling in less. People are literally pulling in way less.
In other news, WTB Landing shop.

Maerit, it helps to include sample size, AKA how many searches you did. Take a looksie.... and you don't think this is related to the loot cap? Not to mention, the loot I do get at this point is garbage. I can do a round of 25 bandits and get no uncuts, maybe a few zircons and topazes.
Some info:
These characters ALWAYS hunt together.
Hunting SoS and bandits.
~40m made from 1/1-1/13 from silvers/gems. There's some discrepancy here, as I jar a lot of gems, though I am mostly full and have been for a while.
No code has to be inserted here.

It has?
I'll triple what I was making for my investments in Gemstone by starting a 2nd team in WoW. 30 days and I'm clearing $2000 more a month.
There's already games that have currency exchanges. They charge a small percentage on the exchange instead of chasing off subscriptions.
I think you have supplied excellent data and put forth real analysis instead of expressing what you "sense" is going on. If you do this a few more days I'd be curious to see if the trend continues or if there were a couple of unlucky days in the mix!
PS - updated the data in my post per your very valid point with search totals! I don't appear to have any loot cap going on based on my data. It could be that I see some slow down towards the end of the month with my hunting style / times and the fact that I have zero trading skill benefit, don't spend time optimizing my sales, and haven't been using any loot boosts.

Yeah, I'm taking a little break for a few days, but will be interesting to see how it plays out with a break in there as well. I suspect it may be a sliding scale based on time.... so it's not just X silvers per month.... but X silvers over Y time with a max of Z per month or whatever period of time. So you may get different results and have a "higher" cap if you don't hunt the first week or whatever, but it would just be a perception due to the sliding scale. I don't have any data on this, just a suspicion I have.
Having worked with Devs as a tester, and for a software company, they rarely tell you the truth, just enough to keep you happy. They are also wrong on a fairly regular basis, maybe not intentionally, but due to bugs, misses in design, or just straight up not wanting to reveal anything. When they are wrong, they will fight you for hours and only admit their error if you have the data to prove them wrong. So I don't really trust the GMs statements on this thus far. Of course they are going to say working as intended, and 95% aren't affected. It's just weird they have decided to punish people for playing their game "too much". Kind of backwards. It's like saying, we want you to pay for this, but we only want you to play 100 hours per month.
I was the kid that slept through class or read a book, didn't do homework, and made A's on all of my tests and projects, and maintained A's and B's doing it (a C or less in any class got me grounded for the entire 6 weeks). I worked through High School as well, starting when I was 16. I've been gainfully employed at the same company for over 14 years. Some of us are simply capable of more than you is the moral of the story. But you're a snowflake, and need everyone brought down to your level because reasons. Don't worry, we understand little snowflake.
