Thread: Democrat Convention 2020

    Cool Democrat Convention 2020

    When is it?
August 17-20. The important stuff starts at 9:00 p.m. eastern each day.

    Where is it?
Everywhere! It was scheduled to be in Milwaukee, but now they're just having some business meetings in Milwaukee. Most disappointingly, there will not be the customary balloon drop. Backgrounds will be the big thing. Speakers are being encouraged not to broadcast from their office with a bookcase and potted plant in the background. Instead, they need to find an impressive, patriotic, meaningful or at least interesting background.

    Who will be there?
Monday: Michele Obama, Bernie Sanders, John Kasich and Amy Klobuchar, among others
Tuesday: Jill Biden and Bill Clinton
Wednesday: Barack Obama, Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren
Thursday: Joe Biden, Andrew Yang, Pete Buttigieg and Cory Booker
The full schedule is at https://www.demconvention.com/schedule-and-speakers/

    Will there be entertainment?
Yes, each night at 8:00 p.m. eastern, there will be a pre-show. There will also be live performances during primetime.

    Where can I watch it?
    Teevee

    What about the Republican convention?
    It starts August 24.
There are decades where nothing happens; and there are weeks where decades happen.

I've been watching from the beginning. It is not nearly as entertaining as past conventions in a packed convention center. On a positive note, they haven't had any technical issues. Based on watching the news networks lately, I figured there would be lots of tech glitches.

    Message I'm getting from Democrats:

"If Democrats aren't in office the country will be divided."

Umm, Democrats have been rioting since inauguration day. It's like a veiled terrorist threat.

Bernie Sanders wins the Night 1 award for most interesting background.

Oh my! Michele Obama just said, "It is what it is." That was no accidental coincidence.

So Biden says "most cops are good" and gets ripped for it.

Wait what? The DNC convention started today and this is the first I'm hearing about it, hours after it has ended?

This is too funny. Must be so much excitement on the Democrat side!

Why even run as "Joe Biden" at this point? Just be honest and run as "Not Trump."

Hmm well let's see if I can help the libbies out a bit with a slogan...

"Vote for Biden, he's not Trump!"
    "Make America fair again!"
"End conservative free speech, vote Biden!"
    "Keep illegal immigration legal!"
"Read my lips, tax the rich!"

I'm so tired of hearing "This is the most important Presidential election in our lifetime" every. single. 4. years.
