If we look at the number of cases per state on a per capita basis, the entire US is actually doing extremely well except for NY and NJ. Like literally the US as a whole would be in good shape if not for the massive fuck up of these two states.
So what did these two states do wrong that other states didn't do?
Part of the reason can be chalked up to population density, but then again states like Florida, California, Texas, and Washington also have large cities with a very dense population and they aren't doing nearly as bad as NY and NJ. It was just a few weeks ago that Washington was considered the epicenter of the outbreak in the US and now the state is doing extremely well.
Part of it is probably all of those morons going to Florida for Spring Break and spreading the virus all around and then all of those students returning home, a lot of which probably came from NY and NJ.
Then there is the terrible leadership problem. Both states (although to be fair it was mostly the leadership of NYC specifically which accounts for almost half the population of the state) were too busy downplaying the severity of the problem because they had to stick it to the Orange Man because he was busy restricting travel from China and putting together a task force to deal with an infectious virus that came from China. Yes, the so called "leadership" of NYC and to a lesser extent the states of NY and NJ were willing to put the lives of their own citizens at risk to appear more "woke" and to prove to Trump and his administration that they weren't racists. These same "leaders" are now pinning all of the blame squarely on Trump because they are failed leaders, failed politicians, and above all failed human beings.
Keep this in mind at the voting booth, but I'm sure many of you are still too wrapped up in your own absurd TDS to let any facts get through that thick skull of yours.
Rough day today around the globe and here at home. I do not look forward to Tgo01's analysis.
Worldwide
deaths / cases: 4.91%
deaths / closed: 19.2 %
deaths per million: 5.4
US
deaths / cases: 2.06 %
deaths / closed: > 33 % (too early ? in the recovery stages to be reliable)
deaths per million: 11.7
Results from https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ with dataset from 12:02 AM GMT. Data is updated about every 2 or 3 minutes, so your results may vary.

Some good news: serology testing is being fast tracked by the FDA (link to article). Between (i) knowing who [likely] has immunity and (ii) having better data on mortality rate (because we'll know who was infected without being tested), hopefully we'll have a clearer perspective on the virus.

CNN literally cutting away during the press briefing when Trump talks.
What a bunch of pieces of shit.
Bad news is the US had a total of 24,742 new daily cases on March 31st, reversing the trend of the previous few days of the number of new daily infections slowing. Same with the number of new daily deaths, it had pretty much stabilized in the ~500 range but shot up to 748 on March 31st, that could just be an outlier or it could be a bad omen.
There is some good news though. Here is the total number of US cases for March and how long it took the number to double:
For almost the entire month it was taking 2 or 3 days for the number of cases to double, the last doubling in March took 5 days. That's a good sign.Code:1st: 75 2nd: 100 3rd: 124 4th: 158 3 days to double 5th: 221 6th: 319 2 days to double 7th: 435 8th: 541 9th: 704 3 days to double 10th: 994 11th: 1301 12th: 1630 3 days to double 13th: 2183 14th: 2770 15th: 3613 3 days to double 16th: 4596 17th: 6344 18th: 9197 3 days to double 19th: 13,779 20th: 19,367 2 days to double 21st: 24,192 22nd: 33,592 23rd: 43,781 3 days to double 24th: 54,856 25th: 68,211 26th: 85,435 3 days to double 27th: 104,126 28th: 123,578 29th: 143,491 30th: 163,788 31st: 188,530 5 days to double
Also some good news for most of the country with the exception of NY and NJ. Most of the country seems to have a good handle on this, it's mostly centered around NY and NJ at the moment. Even though NY and NJ only make up 8.7% of the US' total population they had 37% of the share of deaths on March 31st, they account for over 50% of the total cases in the US, and account for 47% of the total deaths in the US.
Also at the beginning of March NY had 1 case and the number doubled 10 times to 75,795 cases on March 31st. California, a much bigger state and currently has the third highest number of cases, had 53 cases on March 4th and the number doubled 7 times to 6,932 on March 31st. Many states are similar to California where they are keeping the numbers relatively low and the number of times the cases have doubled lower than NY.
This could mean one of two things:
The bad possibility: The rest of the US has yet to experience what NY is currently experiencing but will experience it soon, quite possibly because of morons from NY fleeing the state to stay with friends or relatives or going to their summer home and not self quarantining.
The good possibility: This is a unique situation in NY because New Yorkers didn't take this crisis seriously because people like de Blasio were telling people to live their lives normally and get on the subway and "of course, go to the Chinese New Year's Parade" as recently as just 14 days ago. Also because of dipshits like this man in NY who knew he probably had the Wuhan Virus but lied to hospital staff about his symptoms so he could visit his wife in the hospital after she delivered her baby and ended up probably infecting his wife and possibly infecting hospital staff and other patients.
Also because of pieces of shit like this man that had over 80,000 masks plus other medical supplies that he was hoarding and selling for 700%+ markup. Oh yeah, and where was he getting all of these masks?
Looks like Trump might have been on to something when he said masks were being stolen from NY hospitals and the media and Democrats said he was an idiot for even suggesting that. Imagine hating Trump so much that as a reporter you choose not to follow up on a possible lead the president puts out there, but instead choose to ignore said lead and attack the president for even suggesting it.
To many states are barely testing still, and several are doing next to nothing at all, like China the US has vastly more cases then the numbers show, good news is of course that means survival rate is higher, bad news is until samples of previously deceased are tested we also don't have even remotely accurate totals of deaths either. Texas and Florida in particular are very likely to throw the numbers into chaos when they truly start to really test, since neither seems ot care much state wide about stopping contact or distancing.
Khaladon starts to turn the crystal knob, but stops with a frightened look on his face. He begins shaking uncontrollably and flies across the room, as though by some invisible force.
**SPLAT!!** Khaladon careens off the far wall, slides down the smooth wood panelling and collapses into a quivering heap on the floor, with only his dignity bruised.
