Thread: Cap without converting points!

  1. Default Cap without converting points!

Behold! The converted point-less warrior! I challenged myself to do this with two of my current characters (a warrior and an empath) just to see if I could do it. I figure leveling is easy enough that it can suffer a little inefficiency. The idea is to set stats for maximization at 20, and cap a character without converting a single MTP to PTP or vice versa. If you wanna try it with your character, post the plan/results here!

Warrior was easier to plan out, so I started with that. At this time it isn't capped, but the plan is solid enough that there will be no issues along the way. Tsoran's spreadsheet link is attached, but here are the bullet points of the warrior plan:

    Race: Halfling
    Profession: Warrior
    Style: Sword and Board

    Stats:
    .... L0 L100
    STR: 62 100
    CON: 49 100
    DEX: 49 100
    AGL: 49 100
    DIS: 77 100
    AUR: 82 100
    LOG: 91 100
    INT: 70 98
    WIS: 82 100
    INF: 49 85

Armor Use: 2x until Level 37, then use all extra PTPs to get to full plate, finishing at level 53.
Trading: 1x until pre-20, then maxing out to full 2x by 22 and continuing that way until cap.
First aid: 1x until Level 53, then using all extra TPs to max out to 2x, catching up at 55 and continuing 2x until cap.
Survival: 1x until 72, using all extra TPs to max out to 2x, capping with 191 ranks
Physical fitness: A weak point. Only 1x until 63, catching up to 2x at 72.
Shield use: 2x until 76, using extra PTPs until cap to get more, capping at 270 ranks.
MoC: 30 ranks at 20, saving up points (or spending extras along the way until 37, where 55 ranks are hit. Another 35 ranks from 56 to 63, capping with 90 ranks.

Halflings have a great con bonus, so stamina recovery is high, and he has the CMAN that gives him extra HP, bringing his total up to about human levels. For all other problems, there's nothing a Dreavening can't fix. He doesn't really get hit. His redux is mediocre for a long time, but he's rich as hell from all the trading and skinning.

Empath was the tougher of the two to plan out, and it certainly would've been made easier had I chosen warpath as a style (more ptps to spend). Here are the bullet points:

    Race: Halfling
    Profession: Empath
    Style: Runestaff, Warding

    Stats:
    .....L0 ... L100
    STR: 94 ... 100
    CON: 62 ... 100
    DEX: 73 ... 100
    AGL: 73 ... 100
    DIS: 68 ... 100
    AUR: 73 ... 100
    LOG: 68 ... 100
    INT: 38 ... 79
    WIS: 49 ... 100
    INF: 62 ... 100

Armor Use: Since many PTPs would have to get stored otherwise, I went a full 56 ranks on armor, training off Double RT (6 ranks) + 50 to lower its maneuver profile to robes.
Climb and Swim: He climbs and swims far better than anyone could really need, just because there are limited options that only cost PTPs and I didn't wanna just stockpile.
Spells: Went 20 ranks minor spirit/major spirit before going for +21 over on Empath ranks, so that doesn't happen until level 47. Between stats for cap and lack of extra empath circle ranks, warding is a little annoying until you hit stride in the mid 30s.
Lores: Just 15 ranks of manipulation early to boost up 1106, then up to 55, and 50 ranks of Transference from 75-98 to transfer scars/heal near adjacent. Transformation after that til cap.
Spell aiming: Starts out with little bits as possible mid 50s, gets almost to not quite 2x by cap.
Monaaaayy: Sadly only hits 30 ranks of trading for that 10% sweet spot and then stops, but 3x FA and 1x Survival for life.
    PF: 3x PF for life.
