The higher the tier weapon, the higher the flare rate and harder the flares hit. These will be like slash-based flares that deal close to plasma level damage with probably a 30-40% chance to flare if I understand early explanations. Plus, you get all the unlocks with none of the drawbacks.

They are also script flares, so you can add anything you want to CAT B slot, or leave them blessable and use the flares vs the undead.

Pretty much this. You can add additional flares (or bless the weapon) on top of the blood flares, which by themselves are already pretty great and flare much more frequently than normal (when the weapon is fully unlocked at full affinity).

They also have a 10% chance to heal when you hit, which is nice. The passive healing plus any ensorcelling work make you stay topped off on health pretty much all the time. You can also trigger it manually once every 10 minutes.

Once per hour, you can trigger Perfect Host to add +10 to AS, DS, CON, DEX, and STR as well as +10 CER damage padding.

There's also the fun RP factor and the customization options available to you with the weapon, if that's something that matters.
