    I'm back from long hiatus.

    I'm level 30 DE sorceror, currently in soulhaven.

    My pack was full of dobrem snouts when I logged in so I figured that would be a good place to continue hunting.

    I'm hunting in the ruined village in marshtown. I"m encountereing rooms where magic fizzles 100% of the time, move one room over and it works fine. Its the eastern side of the area in the foothills and ruined village.

    I like hunting the dobrems but being unable to cast magic in certain rooms is clearly a deal breaker.

    Is this normal or a bug.


    Any suggestions on where I should hunt?

    My skills/spells are

    Magic only fizzles in anti-magic rooms or when you’re casting a spell not suited for the environs. Either the rooms themselves are set that way or you’re casting something that can’t work where you are, such as casting an outdoors spells indoors.

    The whole schtick with that area (outlands and the manor) is that there were some big magic catastrophe with the dobrems. If you're outside in the "ruined village" area, it's all anti-magic. Inside the manor (at the very least inside the "tower" part if you look at the map) you can use magic fine. I think also inside the manor. So i think all the INSIDE rooms are protected from whatever is messing up the use of magic, but outside rooms in the village / around the manor proper are blocked.

    That dobrem area has rooms that are flat out anti magic, it's intended, nothing wrong with your character or training

    Shitty spot for pures imo

    Thanks everyone i'm so rusty i felt like I was missing something, never encountered a anti-magic room before.


    Any suggestions on where I should hunt?

    If you don't mind relocating, I hunted out the west gate of Icemule at that level.

    You could also probably manage the glacier between WL and IMT.

    Glacier is great for that level range. At least, for my wizard and rogue and warrior and ranger it was. I'm not sure about sorcs, I took mine through EN, but you should be okay.
