1. Default Gnomish/Steampunk Items

Pickup will be in the Landing.

an ebon leather longcoat with a border of brass sprockets
insp long
You carefully inspect your leather longcoat.

You estimate that an ebon leather longcoat with a border of brass sprockets can store a significant amount with enough space for any number of items.

You determine that you could wear the longcoat, hanging it from your shoulders. The longcoat appears to serve some purpose.

It looks like this item has been mainly crafted out of leather.
>analy long
You analyze your leather longcoat and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions.

The creator has also provided the following information:

This item is intended to have a "steampunk" theme, and remain something machinery-related. Currently the messaging indicates it has sprockets. They should remain something like gears and can be changed by a skilled merchant. The longcoat can be altered with a long or a show, just keep all this in mind when working with a merchant.

You might be able to have a talented merchant lighten the leather longcoat for you or deepen its pockets.

wea long
You put on the leather longcoat, adjusting the sprockets slightly.
>turn long
You place a hand on your leather longcoat and turn the sprockets, which noisily clanks and produces tiny plumes of steam. The sprockets continue moving about on the longcoat for an entire cycle before coming to a stop.
>rem long
You adjust the sprockets and take off your leather longcoat.
Might have other actions too. 750k

a gear-studded scarlet leather toolbelt
insp toolb
You carefully inspect your scarlet leather toolbelt.

You estimate that a gear-studded scarlet leather toolbelt can store a very small amount with enough space for a couple of items of very small size.

You determine that you could wear the toolbelt around your waist. The toolbelt appears to serve some purpose.

It looks like this item has been mainly crafted out of leather.
>analy toolb
You analyze your scarlet leather toolbelt and sense that the creator has provided the following information:

Looking over the toolbelt and inspecting its finer details, you realize that it will always need to be "a/n (whatever)/(whatever)/toolbelt". The item's article and adjective CAN be changed, but "toolbelt" is the only valid noun.

This is a Gnomish Repair Toolbelt, which means it is scripted to interact both with run-of-the-mill, generic items and with items which have "damaged" text strings stored in them. This toolbelt provides standard messaging when working on generic items, and specific messaging when working on items which are part of the Gnomish Repair System. Items can be set up with "damaged" text strings so that they can interact with the Gnomish Repair System without being scripted. IF SCRIPTED, such items will state in their analysis text that they are part of the system.

If you were to play with the toolbelt, then you'd find that you can analyze, wear, remove, clean, pinch, poke, pull, and twist it.

Clean, pinch, poke, and pull provide standard interactions for generic items. G.R.S items need to be "damaged" in order for the toolbelt to interact with them. TWIST will set a G.R.S. item's long description to one of its four damaged descriptions. When a G.R.S. item is damaged, the same verbs will provide specific messaging as the item is "repaired."

NOTE: This toolbelt currently supports interaction with a limited variety of generic items. These include: shields, goggles, crossbows (mechanical and otherwise), longbows, composite bows, short bows, runestaffs, swords, and axes.

SCRIPT NAME: Gnomish Repair Toolbelt

You might be able to have a talented merchant lighten the scarlet leather toolbelt for you or deepen its pockets.

>wea toolb
You wrap the toolbelt around your waist and buckle it, careful that the various handles hang free and clear.
>pull tool
You can't work on an item if you're not holding it in one hand or the other.
>get gog
You remove a pair of mechanical goggles with polished glass lenses from in your leather longcoat.
>pull tool
Glancing from the goggles to your toolbelt and back, you come to the conclusion that oiling the strap, removing any nicks with a file, and polishing its lenses are about all you can do for them.
>poke tool
Drawing a camel hair brush out of a pocket on your toolbelt, you draw it lightly across the surface of your tub of jeweler's rouge and spend the next little while spinning the brush between your fingers as the feathery bristles sweep across the goggles's lenses. When you finish, the lenses shine like jewels.
>rem toolb
You unbuckle the toolbelt from your waist and gather both ends carefully into one hand.
Does more stuff as described above in the analyze portion, especially if used with other items of the gnomish repair system. 1m

a steel-banded clockwork vambrace
>insp vam
You carefully inspect your clockwork vambrace.

You estimate that a steel-banded clockwork vambrace can store up to five lockpicks.

You determine that you could wear the vambrace around your wrist. The vambrace appears to serve some purpose.
>analy vam
You analyze your clockwork vambrace and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions.

The creator has also provided the following information:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
-=Gnomish Mech Locksmith Bracer=-
These items can only be altered within very specific guidelines.
No shows or long descriptions. Only the 15/15/15 may be changed.
Approved nouns: bracer, vambrace, arm-guard.

Only the following can be customized:
Gears - Must be a metal
Casings - Must be a metal
Arms/Banding - Must be a metal
It is a locked, off the shelf version.
It can hold up to 5 lockpicks.
You can: PUSH and TURN.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Gears = bronze
Casings = copper
Metal Arms/Bands = steel

The vambrace cannot be deepened, but if unlocked once, it could hold 5 more lockpicks, and if unlocked twice, it could hold a total of 20 lockpicks. 1m

a branded leather case inset with well-oiled metal gears
Belt worn, medium amount for any number of items. analy case
You analyze your leather case and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions.

The creator has also provided the following information:
This item may be altered by a talented merchant, though it must make sense for the manner in which the case is opened and closed. A small handful of merchants may also be willing and able to customize the manner in which you open and close the case.

You can tell that the case is as light as it can get, but you might be able to have a talented merchant deepen its pockets for you.

>open case
As you press a tiny button flush against the side of the case, you watch the metal gears turn counterclockwise, allowing you access to the contents within.
>close case
As you nudge the sides of your case together, the well-oiled gears tick clockwise, forming a seal as they fasten the container shut. 500k

a cast bronze bracer set with sprockets and a mica-lensed gauge
Arm worn, very small amount for a couple of items, opens and closes. Thought this did something else, but if it does I can't remember what it is. 250k

a pair of mechanical goggles with polished glass lenses
analy gog
You analyze your mechanical goggles and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions, but the creator has stated that "The item type should not change."

The creator has also provided the following information:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Gnomish Mech Goggles

These goggles should NOT be altered with the following
exceptions: Only the lens color, button, gears, and buckle
can be customized by a merchant. Normal ALTER rules apply.

This item can be unlocked by a special merchant.

All options must be 15 letters or under. ALTER rules apply.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

The lens color is currently set to "polished". This should make sense for glass.
The buckle is currently set to "iron". This should be a metal or color.
The button is currently set to "obsidian". This should be a metal, color or gemstone.
The gears are currently set to "iron". This should be a metal or color.

You get no sense of whether or not the goggles may be further lightened.

>wea gog
You carefully strap your mechanical goggles around your head, and fasten the iron buckle to secure them in place.
>poke gog
You reach up and poke the obsidian button on the side of your mechanical goggles. Small iron gears begin to turn causing tiny metal arms to swipe to and fro, attempting to clean the polished lenses.
>rem gog
You reach back and unfasten the iron buckle of your mechanical goggles, and remove them from your head.
Might be more zests. 500k

a pair of dark mechanical boots layered in gears
analy boot
You analyze your dark mechanical boots and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions, but the creator has stated that "The item has restrictions on changing the noun."

The creator has also provided the following information:
This item is a part of the "Steampunk Clothing Set".

All alterations must mention cogs, gears, or rivets in the primary description, whether long or in the 15/15/15.

This item is currently locked it may be unlocked by a talented merchant.

The noun of this item must remain the same.
The metal of this item is set to: steel.
This can be altered by a talented merchant.

You get no sense of whether or not the boots may be further lightened.

>wea boot
As you go to pull your dark mechanical boots onto your feet they suddenly part down the middle leaving the padded interior wide open. As you place your feet inside, the boots reseal themselves around your feet, the steel rivets snapping themselves into place.
>push boot
You raise your foot into the air and bring it crashing down in an angry stomp causing the gears and rivets of your dark mechanical boots to rattle and creak.
>pull boot
The armored reinforcements of your dark mechanical boots suddenly separate into individual steel plates. They shudder and twitch, shaking free dirt and dust before snapping back together seamlessly.
>rem boot
As you reach for your dark mechanical boots the steel rivets suddenly part, splitting your boots right down the middle. You easily remove your feet from within the boots and pick them up as the rivets snap back into place on their own.
Might be more zests. 250k

a gear-covered tall fur hat
>analy hat
You analyze your tall fur hat and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions, but the creator has stated that "The item has restrictions on changing the noun."

The creator has also provided the following information:
This item is a part of the "Steampunk Clothing Set".

All alterations must mention cogs, gears, or rivets in the primary description, whether long or in the 15/15/15.

This item is currently locked it may be unlocked by a talented merchant.
This item must remain a "hat" or "cap" but can be altered.
The metal of this item is set to: steel.
This can be altered by a talented merchant.

>wea hat
As you place your tall fur hat on your head, you hear the whirring and grinding of gears as it unfolds and shifts, sizing itself to a comfortable fit about your crown.
>push hat
The brim of your tall fur hat suddenly rotates about as if independent from the rest of the hat. A moment later it settles back into place to the faint sound of whirling gears.
>pull hat
As you turn your head to the side your tall fur hat lags behind, remaining pointed straight ahead. A moment later it slowly twists to face the correct direction to the faint sound of whirling gears.
>rem hat
As you remove your tall fur hat it compresses upon itself, flattening out to the sound of whirling gears and grinding metal. A moment later it falls still in your hand.
Might be more zests. 250k

a bronze-paneled eisenruck with an ivory gear-embossed lid
insp eis
You carefully inspect your bronze-paneled eisenruck.

You estimate that a bronze-paneled eisenruck with an ivory gear-embossed lid can store an exceptional amount with enough space for any number of items.

You determine that you could wear the eisenruck on your back. The eisenruck appears to serve some purpose.

It looks like this item has been mainly crafted out of bronze.
>analy eis
You analyze your bronze-paneled eisenruck and sense that the creator has provided the following information:

Looking over the eisenruck and inspecting its finer details, you realize that it will always need to be "a/n (whatever)/(whatever)/eisenruck". So, the item's article and adjective CAN be changed, but "eisenruck" cannot.

To insert a gem into the eisenruck, you must be wearing the eisenruck and holding a gem in one hand, then PUSH eisenruck.

Note 1: The eisenruck must be worn continuously for a minimum of one day before any of its gem-eating abilities will function.

Note 2: When you LOOK at your eisenruck, if a socket is described as "open," then it is ready to have a gem inserted into it. If a socket is described as "closed," then it is in cooldown.

Note 3: Although it is not required by the script, this eisenruck is designed to interact with the Gnomish Repair System, which enables the wearer of a scripted Gnomish Repair Belt to alter this eisenruck's appearance to any of several "damaged" descriptions which are pre-stored in the eisenruck's extra text fields. Please keep that in mind if you request an alteration for this item. The "damaged" description texts may also need to be changed by the merchant in order to reflect the changes of your alteration.

If you were to play with the bronze-paneled eisenruck, then you'd find that you can analyze, wear, remove, pinch, poke, and push it. PUSH won't do anything if the eisenruck has no gem sockets "unlocked" or added.

This is a Tier 0 eisenruck, which has not been unlocked at all and is still as sold OTS. It has four tiers in total.
This eisenruck is sold OTS with no tier unlocked.

SCRIPT NAME: Gem-eater Eisenruck

You might be able to have a talented merchant lighten the bronze-paneled eisenruck for you or deepen its pockets.

>wea eis
You swing the eisenruck around behind you and lift it to settle its leather-padded rests on your shoulders, then pull the straps down and hook them to the eisenruck's two sidebars.
>pinch eis
You reach back and turn a brass lever on the side of the eisenruck, causing it to click and whirr intensely for several seconds. As the clicking subsides, the air is filled with a series of staccato blasts of a remarkably flatulent nature and an intense odor of rotten eggs.
>push eis
That won't accomplish anything, because the eisenruck has no gem socket.
>poke eis
You reach back and trip a wrought iron lever on the side of the eisenruck, causing twin jets of flame to erupt beneath the eisenruck and launch you into the air! A split second later the flames cut out, and you are abruptly reacquainted with the ground, face first. You are stunned!
PS>rem eis
You unhook the eisenruck's straps from the sidebars near your hips and reach up to lift its shoulder rests off your shoulders. Then, arching one arm over your head, you swing the eisenruck around in front of you. 750k

a miniature clock tower
It's an in game timer for up to an hour.
>l tow
The face of the clock tower has tiny, obsidian hands set on a small peg. They appear to be moveable. The second hand is pointing directly at the twelve.
>turn tower to 5
With great care, you slide the second hand clockwise on the face of the tower until it lines up perfectly with the one.
>l tow
The face of the clock tower has tiny, obsidian hands set on a small peg. They appear to be moveable. The second hand has been moved from its original position, and now points between the twelve and the one. The tower's second hand will return to its original position in approximately 4 minutes.

...5 minutes later...
>
A soft *CLICK* and a buzzing sound comes from your clock tower, informing you that 5 minutes have passed!

>insp tow
You carefully inspect your clock tower.

You determine that you could not wear the tower.

It looks like this item has been mainly crafted out of metal.
>analy tow
You analyze your clock tower and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions.

The creator has also provided the following information:
This item must remain some kind of time piece, and cannot support a LONG or SHOW description. There can be a READ on the item, but will force a small brass plate to appear at the bottom of the tower. "Watch" or "timepiece" are not acceptable nouns for this item.

Timer Syntax: TURN TOWER TO <number between 0-60, divisible by 5>

You get no sense of whether or not the tower may be further lightened. 750k
