Played a bit today, did the hotel mission and some roaming around, including taking a control point.
It looks like they took the idea of gear sets and moved it to "Manufacturer sets" so even lower rarity items can be part of a "set". Equip pieces from the same manufacturer and you get more bonuses, a nice change. Combat feels exactly the same, which isn't a bad thing. Some goof graphic glitches and things floating around in the base but otherwise felt stable. Will try out the end game stuff over the weekend.
If you liked the first one, you'll probably enjoy this one.

So far it seems like they added some new features but kept the core game play exactly the same. The "invaded mission" option should open up later.
I'm not sure what you would consider an improvement. I think if you didn't like the last one you may not like this one either. Some of the stuff they added seems to be fetch quests to upgrade the settlements to unlock more options and bonuses.
I was just checking my e-mail and I think I got beta access for it. I will have to try it out this weekend.
It kinda implies I have 3 invites I can send out, anyone want one if I can?

nevermind, logged into my uplay account and I had a beta code already, which is weird because I never got an email saying I got in
