Our NCOs were cool, and the 2nd Lieutenants were great, but our 1st Lieutenant was way into dinosaurs and fairly high strung. Nobody wanted to follow him into combat.

Don't listen to Gelston. Accidents and bad stuff do happen all the time. When I was stationed at Miramar Naval Aviator School in Miramar California, a tragic accident cost one navigator his life. His partner's plane performed a maneuver too close to another plane and got caught in the jetwash, which caused a burnout. His ejection seat malfunctioned and he died. It was a real bummer at the end of the second ac...my second tour.
