Income is already taxed. She literally wants to double tax that income that was taxed when you received it as income.

How about eliminate all the wasteful spending before increasing taxes on anyone or anything?

Eliminate that, and tax increases won't be "needed" in the first place.

Ok, then. We have property taxes, sales taxes, income taxes, inheritance taxes, etc, etc. The wealthy are often able to avoid them, or get lower rates through things like lower capital-gains taxes. I don't see a problem with a 2% wealth tax. It's just paying your way, like everybody else.

There are more taxes than just income taxes, which seems to be where this perspective is coming from. Also, a 2% wealth tax would barely counteract inflation.

Let me rephrase...why should someone's money be taxed that they already paid taxes on for no other reason than because they possess more than a certain amount of it?
