Border security has never been about just building a wall and then saying "There! Fixed forever!". It's a supplemental tool that increases security where there has and always will be other measures in place. If that weren't the case, walls wouldn't exist at all. If they didn't do anything, nobody would ever have reason to build them.

We don't live in the Pacific Rim universe where we're just building a giant wall and saying "Lol wut Kaiju?", because you have to be a special kind of Get It Started to believe that works.
