Thread: The "Tolerant" Left

I can see Trump supporters being defined as alt-right because he is, was and will be forever, an alternative to the Right leaning general Republican candidate. That is reasonable and fair because it makes sense to me.

What I cannot understand is why a fringe minority, whom were always within seconds of a spotlight, is now defining the alternative right as well as anyone deemed to be or ever had connections to the Republican party... Nazis. Was it that you didn't accept the outright call out? Yes. Indeed. That one condemnation on every side now defines the alternative right as Nazis.

Why can nobody give a better reason? Was there some form of meeting I missed? Is it a different definition than the one I understand?

From what I understand there was a very small time frame where alt-right did mean someone who is on the right but not a traditional Republican, so an alternative right, but the term very quickly got taken over by actual white supremacists and people pushing for anti-immigrant laws and whatnot. Some people didn't realize the term had changed (because it happened rather suddenly) and self identified as alt-right but they have since denounced the alt-right.

As far as why far left loons feel it's okay to label everyone they disagree with as alt-right/Nazis? Because they are loons. See: Androidpk.

I considered myself to be a pro-life libertarian then one day I woke up and suddenly I was an alt-right NAZI.

    Now for your daily programming:

Pretty sure they haven't made public statements advocating civil war, haven't publicly advocated stalking and attacking people in public and at their homes as well as other pretty despicable things. Also, not aware of incidents where they have initiated violence, riots or destruction of private property.

You talk about murders below, so other than the asshole that drove into a crowd with his car and killed a woman, who else do you think was "murdered"? Pretty sure that at the time, I called out the asshole as a piece of shit asshole so I am pretty consistent in calling out assholes.

There are assholes on both sides. Hell, you get enough people in a crowd and you will likely get a fight, have you been to a sports event or concert lately? It just seems the Left has more people that are willing to escalate to violence faster and more generally than others. I would suppose that has something to do with the Leftist leadership calling for violence and the fact that the Left is generally more emotionally uncontrolled than the Right.

No, no don't get it. Alt-right isn't everyone that's a Republican or even everyone that supports Trump. Alt right is people like Milo Yiannopoulos, Stephen Bannon, Stephen Miller, Gavin McInnes and the groups that they support or lead like Patriot Prayer and Proud Boys.

Riiight. Because no one is calling for violence from the right huh? We don't have a POTUS calling journalists the enemy of the people. We don't have Milo calling for death squads to go and assassinate people. We don't have right wing groups being found with a weapons cache in Portland. We don't have people like McInnes saying violence in politics isn't only acceptable but it is THE answer. We don't have a radicalized neo nazi pleading guilty to a terrorism charge for illegally stopping an Amtrak train to "save people from the blacks."

If you think groups like Antifa resorting to violence is not acceptable then your response to right wing groups doing the same or worse should be the exact same. But hey, if you want to let your tribalism dictate your feelings on the subject go ahead.

You're so useless. Milo? Stephen Miller? Gavin McInnes? You are so intellectually dishonest it should be criminal.

If you think the POTUS calling CNN and fake news the enemy of the people is calling for violence then your English comprehension is bad.

Found with a weapon's cache vs USING weapons to attack people. How many Proud Boys have been found at rallies with flags and sticks with nails in the end? How many OOOOO, someone has weapons, they must be bad, someone using weapons against others they when unprovoked is ok. Gotcha. Kinda sure that I haven't defended Milo or that McInnes idiot yet you and others have clearly defended Antifa and others. So you response against them is lacking and you have long since let your tribalism dictate your feelings in the matter.

And now we have POTUS himself complimenting a politician for physically attacking a journalist and saying that action might help Republicans. GG.
