I did see a few when i was in Iraq and Afghanistan, but only when we were setting up a clinic or some bull shit so we could have the happy feel good hearts and minds stories.
One was supposed to stay the week for us at the PB, but they didn't like the "Bathroom facilities" we had so they left the next day. We had 4 women staying on the PB with us (called the FET) and they didn't mind it at all. Guess they had bigger balls than this PAO dude.
We escorted Combat Camera and PAO guys a lot while I was in Baghdad and later Diwaniyah, and yeah, it was entirely puff pieces about how good the Army was doing or how well the police were being trained. They were nice enough, but a little weird. Never seen a videographer though. I think the Army was talking about merging them all (CC, PAO, videographers) under Signal as one unified MOS.
