    +1,000,000. I have used 917/steam almost exclusively since level 30. You can set 903 to automatically evoke with the command "incant set evoke 903". If your using ;voodoo be mindful that using "903 target" will cast minor water. Heres a glance at my training(dropping armor back to 4 ranks and fire lore back down to 20):

    Imo this is the best bolt spell in the game especially if you're under 50. When you have 20 fire lore type incant set evoke 903, once you've done that every time you incant 903 it will be minor steam instead of minor water and it only costs 4 mana to cast. The only reasons not to use it would be for RP reasons or if the target is immune to it.

    Minor steam was hands down the best change during the elemental lore review it was a real God send to the class.

    Strength factors into AS so you will want to get that up, plus it rises very slowly for wizards so you will not be anywhere near 100 at cap with stat, have you gone through the stat cruncher to see where they should be?

    I didn't think it affected a wizards casting as such as fire, acid, fire etc

    It doesn't but I'd strongly recommend you check this out (http://www.nitefallz.com/statmax.html). Strength determines how much you can hold/carry before becoming encumbered. Bolt/ball AS is reliant on the dexterity stat.

    I followed the calculator somewhat, but the wiki recommended I have a higher influence......should I dump this stat and pump up dex and strength? I am not comfortable with some of my stats......but I really tried to follow the wiki.

    Strength is super important, you don't want to be encumbered as that will F up your dodging maneuver chances. Also if you want to be able to carry more than 3 gems per hunt.

    That must have changed, I could have sworn it used to factor in to it, even so, having low strength, is a major impediment. Maneuvers are a real challenge for pures, and if you get heavy fast, they only get worse, having low strength impacts that, plus with the way your stats are set right now, you will have several at 100 early on and several that never get close to cap.
