Thread: Official: Thirsty Bards

  1. #1

    Default Official: Thirsty Bards

While nothing will ever stop the insatiable thirst that those drawn to the bard profession tend to have, the thirst mechanic has had the severity of it's penalties reduced.

Previously this mechanic could stack to unreasonable amounts and require hundreds of sips of liquid to resolve, with no real indicators of progressing towards a remedy. The thirst mechanic will no longer stack or do periodic damage when ignored. It will still prevent song renewals, but will now only require one sip of an appropriate booze of choice to remedy.

    Stay thirsty my friends.

    Damn, that's a nice change.

If this was a wizard issue you'd need 150 water lore ranks to have a 5% chance of only requiring 199 sips instead of 200.

It is a nice change because you could die from thirst, literally, before. It was like all bards became My Chemical Romance and their screamo music would result in their death, not just wishing they were dead.

Only time my bard ever died is when I traveled and went afk right after. Returned to a dead character.

To my knowledge it's only when using Traveler's Song, whatever the name of the spell that lets bards teleport to the nearest bar.

It happens when you cast the teleportation skill on a Bard.

As a bard who has a wizard who stumbles his way through wizard "improvements", I get real nervous anytime they start poking around our spellsongs.
