No. Sorry. You're incorrect. Authoritarian Anti-capitalism is not the same thing as socialism. Below are several sources. Take your pick. Hitler used Socialism as a carrot, and then beat all its proponents to death with a stick as soon as he had power. Nazi Germany was a Fascist dictatorship. It was a Germany-first economic model using privatized companies, but privatized companies run by the "right" people as viewed by those in power. I'm sick of both sides of the political debate in this country comparing each other to Nazi Germany. Neither one of them is correct, and they all take an incorrect view of history.

Except all the times he said he WAS a socialist. You keep bringing up Night of the Long Knives. That was the most radical of socialist he killed, not all of the socialists. Again, look at his economic model. It was socialist. Look at his plans for Germany after the war. It was socialist. It was a new kind of socialism, but if you look at the basic tenets of what Hitler was trying to build the economy into, it was socialism. It was a socialism where the economy was very closely controlled by his centrist Government. There were no labor unions, because they wouldn't need them. The Government would care for its people. It paid for free vacations for German citizens. It was a socialism that put the state first, but it was a socialist economy all the same.

I like that you just posted the first 5 links you saw on google search though.

Gee I'm sorry that I gave you sources for all of the things I have mentioned here. I'm even more sorry you were able to find them on google. I'm sure your plan of "Just go look at the other things I'm not going to cite because they don't actually support what I'm saying" is a much better plan. Only history is on my side. You have a much higher power - wishful thinking.

I mean, have you read your sources? They are just disagreeing with other sources.

Which sources do you feel that wikipedia's entry on operation hummingbird and perhaps the the pre-eminent 20th century German Historian are disagreeing with?

The wiki isn't disagreeing with what I've said though. Again, you didn't read it.

Yes, I have, and many others. In fact, I'd say that a large portion of my education focused on Western European history. And the reason I say that is because my education was in fact focused on Western European history. Regardless, you and I are not far apart on what we're saying. You're just saying socialist and I'm saying despotic. The differences at this point are academic. Hitler said the word socialism a lot to get into power. He didn't do a lot of things that were socialist. Maybe he would have done things that were socialist in the future despite that being the exact opposite of his MO by every action he took. But he didn't, and then he died. What we have to go on is what he did. And what he did was kill anyone who leaned socialist once he took power and then mobilize the country into a war machine.

He wasn't Donald Trump or his supporters.
He wasn't Bernie Sanders or his supporters.

He was a whole other kind of asshole that did a lot of things that don't easily make catchy twitter zingers.

I wasn't saying he was anyone other than Adolf Hitler. Just because he espoused a certain economic view doesn't matter.

Who here is or ever has called Bernie Sanders Hitler?

It’s the left that constantly compares Trump (or any other Republican) to Hitler.

Which makes them look dumber than normal.. but that is their comfort zone

Bernie Sanders does have a couple eyes, a nose, and a mouth. So did Hitler. Coincidence? You decide.
