Thread: How often do you use 1650?

  1. Default How often do you use 1650?

    Hi all,

My paladin is level 60 and I'm loving it (which is so strange because my low level paladin was such a drag to play). He currently has 120 and 1640. Uses OHE and Shield (cman feint, shield strike + shield strike mastery and mstrike are lots of fun).

I'm wondering if anyone can comment on how useful they find 1650. Is it a staple of your hunting at higher levels? Fun to mess around with? Never used unless during an invasion?

I'd also love to see some clips of people with 1618 and 1650 up using zeal and onslaught! This spell just seems so cool on paper that I'm wondering if the reality is quite a bit different. I'm guessing not many paladins go beyond 24/25 ranks in SMC (I only have 11 at 60) but 30 energy seems like enough to do some sweet sweet action.

Level 95, haven't switched skills up enough to get 1650 yet, probably won't until post-cap... which is part RP-choice, and part not-enough-TP's 'choice'.

Looking forward to reading what other paladins say about it, though!

I use 1650 pretty regularly. Candidly, I use it for Onslaught more than anything else. I do try to work Zeal and Armor into the mix on occasion, but the fact that Zeal has a 3 second soft cast RT makes me less likely to use it for serious situations (mostly I just use it to use it every once in a while). I'm already doing the 1602/1614/1630 routine in large groups. Adding another 3 seconds of RT to what is already 9 seconds is excessive.

But Armor has saved my life once or twice, and onslaught has definitely saved my life (and weapon) several times.

Any chance you have some logs or could take some logs of your action with 1650?

Sorry I didn't think to do this until the end of my hunt. I'll go grab some more logs of 1650 on the next hunt

Ohhhh man. That looks so fun. I love flares! Does Onslaught hit EVERYTHING? Or just what your MOC training allows with a normal mstrike?

Also once you finish an onslaught cant you mstrike right away without incurring a stamina penalty?

Onslaught hits everything and ignores part of defender's stance. You can also string more than one of them together.

This plus T4F's logs are making me reconsider the awesomeness that 1650 could very well be. Time to call up a training spreadsheet!
