Kansas Gov. Jeff Colyer (R) is calling for the resignation of a white county official who made a comment about being part of the “master race.”
Leavenworth County Commissioner Louis Klemp sparked backlash last week after making the comment, directed at a black woman during a public hearing.
“Racial and discriminative language have no place in our society, and most especially when spoken by someone holding a public office,” Colyer said in a statement.
“The inappropriate remarks made by Leavenworth County Commissioner Louis Klemp are unacceptable and do not reflect the values of the county which he represents,” the statement read. “As such, I call on him to step down as County Commissioner.”

Trump Told Voters ‘I’m On The Ticket.’ But After GOP Losses? ‘I Wasn’t On The Ballot.’
After repeatedly telling his supporters to vote for Republican congressional, gubernatorial and other candidates as if he himself were on the ballot, President Donald Trump took the opposite view in an interview taped Friday when confronted with the scope of GOP losses in the midterm elections.
“I wasn’t on the ballot,” Trump told Fox News Sunday’s Chris Wallace, adding later: “I didn’t run. I wasn’t running. My name wasn’t on the ballot.”
“There are many people that think I don’t like Congress that like me a lot,” Trump said. “I get it all the time: ‘Sir, we’ll never vote unless you’re on the ballot.'”
Trump frequently said on the campaign trail that “a vote for” — any given Republican candidate — “is a vote for me.”
