Mana flares are unique in being able to trigger when casting defensive, or even utility spells like Purification Song (1004), and mass effect attack spells such as Song of Depression (1015) or Song of Sonic Disruption (1030). The bardsongs will only trigger the flare with the CAST verb (i.e. initial start of the Song); the RENEW verb will not trigger a flare.

+5 Mana is super rare and unlikely to occur outside of pay events. It cost at least 75,000 bloodscrip to go from 0-5 Mana using certificates at prior Duskruin events.

Fun fact: T5 ensorcell returns 9 to 18 mana (inclusive) for a non-sorcerer, or 10-20 for a sorcerer. But it only flares for mana about 15-20% of the time, and ensorcell flares only trigger on a hit.
