Thread: Bright (the Netflix original movie)

Default Bright (the Netflix original movie)

What did everyone think? I thought it was fairly legit. I know some internet critic gave it a scathing review and said how boring it was, but I didn't find it boring at all. I initially judge all movies by whether it gets at least a 6 out of 10 on IMDB and have generally found that anything 6 or above is at least entertaining and worth watching. I didn't check before hand, but it's currently got a 6.7 on IMDB and I'd rate it at least that, if not maybe a bit higher.

Fantastic show. Unique byplay between the characters with an engaging story line. Yes the show is essentially Shadowrun made into a series, but they did an amazing job with it.

I'll have to check this out.

The story is cliche as fuck but does what it sets out to do pretty well as far as the world. Its as much Shadowrun as Barbed Wire or Johnny Mnemonic is.
Fun movie for what it is, don't look for anything amazing out of it.

I thoroughly enjoyed it and it's the first time I've seen a movie mesh a fantasy genre with gritty cop genre. They've already been booked for a sequel. Can't wait to see that.

I enjoyed it quite a bit. Training Day with orcs and elves is like a mashup of two of my favorite genres. Not everything that has elements of race relations or social justice needs to be Oscar bait. People need to get over themselves.

I did want to see more of those FBI elves though. Fukken CSI Illistim.

I started it last night but I fell asleep halfway through, not because it was boring but because I had a long ass day. Going to finish it tonight. I enjoyed it so I was surprised at how bad the reviews have been. I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes a cult hit.

We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty. We must remember always that accusation is not proof and that conviction depends upon evidence and due process of law. We will not walk in fear, one of another. We will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason, if we dig deep in our history and our doctrine, and remember that we are not descended from fearful men. Edward R. Murrow
