Impeachment just removes him from office though. Like if the president committed an actual federal crime like money launderin, he could pardon himself so he never has to face a single day in jail but congress could still remove him from office.Originally Posted by Gelston
No, Impeachment begins his trial before the Senate who can then Convict him and remove him from office. We've had two Presidents successfully Impeached. Both were acquitted by the Senate.
And no, he could not. He could try, but it'd never work.
