We've had a number of HARDCORE achievements of note this week, starting with Lord Ardkor's monumental 47th place finish with 19906 exp on the Lumnis Competition leaderboards. He managed the feat at the ripe old level of 29 (though he has recently hit the big 30) while operating completely under HARDCORE rules. Congratulations to him on this effort. We also bestow the title of Lord upon two of our competitors, Unofer and Anaguar. Lord Anaguar as you may know is the current reigning Monk champion, while Lord Unofer is the former Wizard champion who was recently surpassed by the unstoppable Lord Onquer. Well done to both of them, and may their good fortune continue on for weeks to come.

On a sad note, we lost our champion Ranger Kachon this week, whos death has been chronicled on the Roster update. While his successor lives on in a different form, it is Caitis at level 12 who now holds the top slot for the Ranger profession. Other notable updates include the now standard but nevertheless meteoric rise of the Maazi clan, with Maazikeen the F2P Wizard tacking on 6 levels in one week to advance to 13, firmly cementing her spot on the F2P leaderboards.

Running the weekly numbers, we see gains of one level by Lord Ardkor (30), Lady Asheldia (26), Lady Khrayla (22), and Lord Anaguar (20). Not to be outdone, Lord Onquer gained an impressive 3 levels to reach level 25. Let’s hope his first enchanting project goes smoothly. Staying in place for the week are our leaders Lord Halier (24), Mornia (12), Stinkets (14), and Flygr (14). Mornia's reign is soon to come to end barring great tragedy as Anthola, Ainumorco, and Sindaras are all within striking distance. The rest of our champions can sit pretty with few competitors of note in sight.

That's a wrap for this week. Stay safe, Champions.

This week's leaderboard changes include two new community requested additions; maxed Voln favor and expanded silver achievements. Both have been added to the boards, though neither has as yet been claimed. Also new to the leaderboards are the results of the January seasonal contest. Congratulations to all the winners, the details of which are outlined in the Roster update. The February season is now underway, so roll up a HARDCORE character and get in on the action.

Gaining ground this week are our champions Lord Ardkor, now 32, and Lord Onquer at 26. The rest of the field stayed flat, with two notable exceptions. First, with the expiration of the latest of the Maza clan, Aisenit returns to the top of the F2P rankings at level 6. Well done to her for continuing to move forward. Finally, Sindaras (played by yours truly) claimed the top Paladin spot at level 13. It has been an enjoyable journey that I hope to continue for as long as possible.

    Stay safe, Champions.

If you haven't already, i'd highly suggest reading the Roster updates for a full accounting of the week's events: http://forum.gsplayers.com/showthrea...67#post2006067

There's a good amount of activity on the leaderboards due primarily to some high profile exits, so we'll jump right into the action. First and foremost, the Wizard rankings have been turned upside down with the deaths of both Lord Onquer and Lord Unofer, leaving the freshly titled Lord Rattas in top position. Lord Rattas is the cautious type, so unless passed by a fellow wizard, I don't expect to see him lose his spot anytime soon. The Paladin leaderboards have also seen a changing of the guard, with the victor Ainumorco reaching level 16 before Sindaras, knocking him to 2nd place. Sindaras still holds the current and overall fame positions, so he's not entirely wiped off the map.

Most of our other profession champions continued to gain ground, with our overall leader Lord Ardkor adding a level to hit 33, as did Lady Khrayla to reach 23. Lord Anaguar the Monk and Lady Asheldia the Empath both picked up a pair of levels to end up at 22 and 28 respectively. It's worth mentioning that Lord Onquer tacked on 2 levels as well, reaching level 28 before his demise, setting the pole position for top overall Wizard quite high. Staying flat were Lord Halier, Stinkets, Caitis, and Flygr. In F2P news, Egard knocks the now deceased Aisenit off the board to take the lead at level 9.

The Big Game competition kicked off this week (Link: http://forum.gsplayers.com/showthrea...g-Game-Hunting), with the current frontrunner Lord Onquer with a Heroic +36 level kill of a Massive Troll King. Coming in second is Lord Unofer with a +21 level Minor Glacei kill, and taking third is Borral with a +10 level kill of a Forest Troll. The Contest runs until the end of the month, so there's plenty of time to get in on the action.

Finally, the seasonal contest (Link: http://forum.gsplayers.com/showthrea...al-Competition) has seen a large number of new entrants, with the Overall leader Borrs the Sorcerer at level 11, followed by Frazler the level 10 Ranger. The F2P competition has been active as well, with Egard the level 9 Sorcerer leading the way, followed by the Mazi Clan's Wizard Mazikaene at level 7. That too runs until the end of the month.

    Stay safe, Champions.

If you play very conservative it is not surprising at all. The key is to stay conservative, you occasionally get that itch and that is most folks undoing

As was mentioned in the Roster update (http://forum.gsplayers.com/showthrea...36#post2008636), war was declared by the HARDCORE against that terrible foe, The Grimswarm. While losses were great, victories were carved from battle in the form of the first ever to raze a warcamp. At only level 4, Bargin the Halfling Monk managed the feat before losing his life in another warcamp. His rival Engler will be remembered for destroying a total of 16 camps before he too fell to The Swarm. Well done to you both, you shall not be forgotten.

Other notable achievements include Lady Krayla's mastery of Berserk, the first ever of the HARDCORE to finish a guild skill. Fine work, Warrior! Elsewhere, two competitors managed to reach level 20, Lady Shimlurous and Lord Sindaras, the latter of the two also retook the lead from Ainumorco as head Paladin. Rounding out the list is the indominable Mazikaene, breaking the clan's level 16 curse to take the lead from the now deceased Egard to achieve highest overall F2P fame and level.

Our current champions were far from resting on their heels, with our overall leader Cleric Ardkor gaining two levels to reach 35. Lord Anaguar the Monk also gained two to stop at 24, while the Wizard Lord Rattas tacked on a total of six, coming to level 26. Flygr the Rogue (15), Lady Khrayla the Warrior (24), and Lady Asheldia the Empath (29) all gained one level, while our resident Bard Stinkets gained three, reaching level 17.

That gets us all caught up for the now. Stay safe, Champions.

First and foremost this week is a heartfelt congratulations to Lady Mazikaene, our first ever F2P titled character and new Wizard Champion (RIP Lord Rattas). Dozens, if not hundreds of hours have gone into this attempt, and in persevering through many tragic setbacks she has finally completed her goal her esteemed title. Lady Mazikaene also took first place yet again in the F2P bracket of the February Seasonal Contest, with the deceased Egard coming in second.

Also making significant strides this week is Lord Stinkets the Bard, who just today reached level 20 and completed the final step in The Order of Voln. Well done on all counts! In less spectacular news, with the death of Monk Champion Lord Anaguar, the title reverts to the absent Garry who I suspect shall not rule for long.

In our standard list of updates, Lord Halier the Sorcerer finds the time in his busy schedule to push his lead up by one to 25, as does Lady Asheldia the Empath, and Lord Sindaras the Paladin. Our reigning champion Lord Ardkor continues to Ardkor it up and tacks on two, making level 37 look easy. Caitis, Lady Khrayla, and Flygr all remained flat, but there's rumors of a hard charging Ranger working his way up the ranks to shake things up.

Finally, a new month brings new contests! Specifically, a new Seasonal Contest and a full-fledged bounty against the Grimswarm. The first to master Guardians of Sunfist will receive 5 million silver prize money to the non-HC character of their choice, along with a pick of the remaining prize items for their personal use. Wish all who attempt the feat luck, as they have so far died to a man.

That's it for now. Stay safe, Champions.

After a brief introduction it has come to my attention that Mazikaene is Faendryl and needs to be exterminated.

By far the biggest news of this week's Leaderboard update is the Dwarven Warrior Ardey's triumph over the Grimswarm to become the first ever HARDCORE Master of the Guardians of Sunfist. This impressive feat was literally months in the making, with over a dozen failed attempts before the player of Kithus and Binret finally achieved his goal. It is only fitting that the founder of the HARDCORE concept is the first and perhaps only one to accomplish this monumental task. It is worth noting Ardey also holds the record for most warcamps destroyed at 22, and of course holds the record for most prestige points 2085. Ardey's victory over this month's Grimswarm competition netted his player 5 million silver and Ardey himself a prize from The Imperiled Few's treasure pile. To honor his achievement, I have decided to make the award for mastering GoS with any profession not yet having managed the feat 5 million silver and a draw from The Few's coffers as well. That means any HARDCORE competitor who masters GoS with a profession other than Warrior (ATM) shall receive these awards. Good luck to all who attempt the feat. You'll need it!

Elsewhere on the Leaderboards, we have a changing of the guard with Duaguar, Lord Anaguar's successor, reclaiming the top Monk spot at level 6 from the (very) inactive Garry. This is a largely symbolic move due to the low levels involved, but it warms my heart to see Doug back on the leaderboard after having been such a steadfast competitor. May your reign be a long one. Coming in JUST under the wire for this update, Aurelis the Elven Ranger squeaks by Caitis ascend to the champion slot at level 13. Caitis is a longtime champion, so hopefully the competition will spur her into action. Well done to Aurelis in his quick ascension to upper echelons of the HARDCORE.

In the numbers game, we have Lord Ardkor the Cleric continuing to dominate the rankings at level 38, up one from last week's update. Also adding a level to their leads are the Empath Lady Asheldia (31), and Lady Khrayla the Warrior (25). Tied at level 23, Lady Mazikaene the F2P Wizard Champ rose three levels, while top Paladin Lord Sindaras gained two. It would seem we have a little champion versus champion rivalry, which is astounding due to the significant experience disadvantages of a F2P account. Staying flat this week are the Sorcerer Lord Halier, The Bard Lord Stinkets, and Flygr the Rogue.

In other leaderboard news, Machon the Warrior has added several entries to the Pain Olympics, a fairly new section of the wiki that highlights those that took a beating but kept on living. The March Seasonal competition is in full swing, with the current roster available for update here: (http://forum.gsplayers.com/showthrea...al-Competition). Keep on the lookout for news regarding the next in-game HARDCORE event, which will be taking place on April 1st in Ta'Vaalor.

That's a wrap for this week. Stay safe, Champions!
