From nearby, you hear Ordim yell, "Dont eat meeeeee!"

The shaggy mutt sniffs at a vine-painted mistwood keg, then grabs it in its teeth and greedily wolfs it down before anyone can grab it!

Wyrom - Just official communication channels, like GemStone IV Facebook, Twitter, and eventually other areas. We had an instance or two recently where a player became vulgar on Twitter. Bringing it into the game.

Rofl, they'll punish you for twitter and FB responses now. And eventually other areas. Gee, the other forums maybe? Yeah, they'll just be the officials eventually. That is something that was always fucking retarded about the GMs in GS. They want to act like fucking baby sitters and scold you for shit.

Write 'gemstone sucks' on their dead subreddit, get banned. It really is a good thing Simu wants nothing to do with these forums.

Anyone know what the twitter meltdown was?

You had better pay your guild dues before you forget. You are 113 months behind.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I read that bit. "Official communications" should be self explanatory; anything that is "officially" Simu ran/controlled, saying "other areas" is redundant if he's still referring to "official communications." Clearly they plan to expand this into "unofficial communications."

Not only that but why would they police Twitter, Reddit, Facebook etc by punishing players in the game? Simu continues its march toward 1984.

Yeah no shit, maybe we dodged a bullet there after all. I can just see the GMs salivating at the thought of punishing people in game for being meanie heads on the forums.

To be fair, anyone taking conflicts from any aspect of out-of-game communications into game should be in violation of policy.

Like, billion dollar gaming companies don't care as much. Zenimax is barely a presence on their own forums. But this tiny ass little company wants to go full retard on social media. Alright. Have fun driving everyone away.

Agreed, but that should already be covered in the old policy. If you're being abusive in game then you should be punished. I don't like the idea that Simu seemingly wants to preempt abuse in game by punishing people for stuff they do and say outside of the game.

Yes and no. The only reason it should be against policy is when it is non-consensual pvp. That is it. If someone sets up a tournament out of game, should that be something the GMs get pissy about?
