Maybe you can explain it more to me, because I just don't understand how this is a cash grab. And if I'm wrong on any of this, please tell me. But previously EG was 2 weeks: 2 whole weeks for shopping, with the last week being able to dig/games, raffles and merchant work. According to the new pricing, if you wanted the same exact setup as before, shopping for the entire times costs $10, digging/games for 1 week (same that you had access to before) costs $15, and raffles/merchants during that 1 merchant week (which is what you had before) is $30. So in total, if you wanted this EG to be exactly like last EG, it would cost you $55 instead of $50, right?

But, in addition, if you want, which no one on earth is forcing you to do, you can pay for extra weeks of digging. The only way I see anything as a cash grab is if someone forces you to pay cash for something you weren't paying cash for before, and that is just not the case.

It really becomes cheaper to take in multiple-accounts for merchants/raffles. You're paying $30 an account instead of a full EG ticket price.

for me it's the addition of the diving mr viekn. yeah yeah I know we don't have to do it. But they will make the possible prizes awesome. WIthout the diving I would be 85 percent behind this new way. Without doubling the prices for games and digging i would be 100 percent behind it

That's your definition of a cash grab, someone forcing you to purchase something?

Honestly guys, it doesn't seem too bad. (again will have to know how exactly the prizes will shake down.)

3 Things we can do to keep them honest:

    1. Track the prizes, I'm suspicious they'll put anything decent in digging versus diving.
    2. Track the services/stores. Some services or loot for seashells and others for just silvers they say.
    3. How are the raffles being done? staggered across weeks for maximum pass squeezing?

Overall, it seems slightly more expensive than previous years. My only concern is the one-armed bandit they added in the bathrooms this year (aka the diving).

If their goal is to have a 24/7 Simucoin slot machine thing going, they might as well renovate Beldrin's Gaming Hall and let you spend them there.
You had better pay your guild dues before you forget. You are 113 months behind.

Fair enough. But I always equate it to this: Let's say you love hamburgers. Your favorite hamburger place just came out with all new hamburgers on their menu in addition to what they've always offered. But these new hamburgers are extremely delicious, they look awesome, and everyone you know who has eaten one says it's 100% better than what they offered before, which you didn't think was possible. Are you posting on the company's website with how annoyed you are that they made these new hamburgers and it's just a cash grab?

The fact that they couldn't even throw people a bone and open up the shops to everyone for free is why this is a cash grab. They didn't make things "cheaper" out of the kindness of their hearts. They are banking on the fact that people who typically spent 50 dollars will again spend at least 50 dollars, and now having a la carte options will open up an entirely new revenue stream for them. Add on top of all of that this new Duskruin type SimuCoins for alternative currency/awesome items on top of the already high monthly fees people pay and I'm not sure how one can view this as anything but a cash grab. I probably would have just brushed this off if it wasn't for the fact that they are already announcing this shortly after their previous cash grab ended.

It honestly seems like that's their goal at this point. Just eventually have slot machines people can pump SimuCoins into for the unlikely chance at an awesome item. They'll probably do away with awesome items being found in the treasure hopper and will instead be found in slot machines. Not that the treasure hopper ever gave a good chance at finding awesome items to begin with.
