The surcharge for beginning to add damage weighting is a little excessive. The most cost effective way to max out your weapon would be to finish all your crit weighting before beginning the damage weighting. (2500/2500 looks pretty nice) You lose out on the "easy" wins of going hcw>hdw>mcw>mdw etc because of having to pay the surcharge for the other type being on the weapon.
