    >House Speaker Paul D. Ryan breaks with President Trump, says he sees ‘no evidence’ to claims FBI spied on president’s campaign.

    >House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) on Wednesday warned President Donald Trump against pardoning himself, saying that it was obvious that Trump shouldn’t attempt to do so.

“Do you believe that the President has power to pardon himself?” a reporter asked Ryan at his weekly press conference.

“I don’t know the technical answer to that question, but I think, obviously, the answer is he shouldn’t, and no one is above the law,” Ryan responded.

Confirming that there was in fact a confidential informant contacting members of the Trump campaign as it investigated its ties to Russia and then claiming that there is no evidence of spying seems a little intellectually dishonest to me.

A spy is someone you send in preemptively to try to find dirt.

An informant is someone you send in after you've received numerous Intelligence reports indicating the Russians are talking with the Trump campaign.

There's a HUGE difference. Are you honestly telling me that you don't think we should be following up on Intel like that? That's about as serious a threat to national security as it gets.

That's not what I'm saying. Of course they have to look at it. It just appears to me that they're playing the semantics game. Merely my personal opinion.

So why were there no "informants" placed within the Clinton campaign?

Because the Clinton campaign wasn't staffed with known/suspected foreign agents.
