Yup. It's not a coincidence that the groups motivated by white racial anxiety have become increasingly skeptical of democracy and increasingly tolerant of authoritarianism. They know that as time moves on, white people make up less and less of the electorate- which means democracy will no longer guarantee them a controlling stake in the country, as it were.

We've seen it play out in the voter suppression efforts that have targeted minority voters.

We've seen it play out in the ruthless gerrymandering that has entrenched minority rule.

And we are seeing it in the way they are so quick to dismiss Trump's anti-democratic behaviors- appreciating the fact that he calls for the jailing of US citizens, attacks the Free press, attacks law enforcement agencies that he can't control, etc.

And we see it in the way they embrace Putin- one of the world's most notorious dictators.

It's really disheartening to watch, and it's this kind of sentiment that opens the door for some really dangerous changes.

You...do understand that the point of the tweet was to bring attention to racism, right? The NRA has a long, sordid, *racist* history: calling men of color "thugs", spouting racist narratives like "Black on black crime", attacked Black Lives Matter, etc.

Since the majority of homicides, rapes and armed robbery of black people is committed by black people, how can you day that "black on black" crime is not factual? stating the truth is not racist no matter how much you want it to be. BLM is a plainly racist terrorist organization, attacking them is pretty rational. Much like attacking the KKK, the DNC, Liberals and other racist groups.

So first- it's actually embarrassing that Methais apparently knows so little about the history of the NRA and race that he can't recognize a critique of its racism when he sees it. Secondly, it's even more embarrassing that he's unable to differentiate critiques of racism from actual racism.

It's embarrassing that you can't recognize just how disconnected you are from reality and just how deeply racist, sexist and arrogant you are.

It's astounding that you don't think voter ID laws that target minority communities by eliminating voting on Sundays (to block souls to the polls) and shutting down polling locations in minority areas are racist, but you think someone pointing out that the NRA has a deep and abiding love for racist narratives is racist.

Voter ID laws requiring actual ID are not racist despite what Liberal judges say. Not one suit calling requiring ID to buy alcohol, firearms, a vehicle, or join the military has been brought on the grounds of racism. It has only been brought by Liberals against voting to protect the voter fraud perpetuated for decades under the DNC to maintain control in states where their voter base is declining. It also would help eliminate the illegal votes cast by illegal aliens in US elections. Also a significant danger to the DNC.

It is also embarrassing just how racist, ignorant and bigoted you are.

Have you gotten your family member legal status yet or are you still sheltering them because in your great and magnanimous compassion you are still simply too lazy and unwilling to pay for the needed paperwork to get them legal status despite allegedly knowing so many high political figures and rubbing elbows with the rich and powerful?

No, I'm super stoked we elected the son of a KKK member, who spread the racist Birtherism lie, tried to get the Central Park 5 killed, is ridiculously reluctant to condemn hate groups, who vilified Mexican immigrants, decided a Federal Judge's ethnicity made him unqualified to perform his job, put a hard-core racist in charge of the DoJ, supports rolling back resources to fight racism in Higher Education and to use them to attack work done to help ensure minority students have a fair shot at getting into selective colleges, enacted a defacto religious ban on people immigrating to the US...I could really go on.
