Republicans are continuing to lay the ground work to fire Rosenstein.

    WaPo reporting tonight:
    Gate
Two of President Trump’s top legislative allies met with Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein this week to press him for more documents about the conduct of law enforcement officials involved in the Russia probe and the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email server, according to three people who were not authorized to speak publicly about the discussion.

Rosenstein’s meeting at his office Monday with Reps. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) came days after Meadows, an influential Trump confidant, warned Rosenstein that he could soon face impeachment proceedings or an effort to hold him in contempt of Congress if he did not satisfy GOP demands for documents.
So far the major contributions from Congressional Republicans to figuring out how Russia interfered with our elections (and continues to do so) and what we can do about it has been...a criminal referral for Manafort for decades of money laundering and being in contact with Russian Intelligence while running a US Presidential campaign. Oh no, sorry.

Michael Flynn for failing to register as a foreign agent and apparently continuing to do work for foreign governments while nominated for a top security position! Oh no, not that either. Papadopoulos for meeting with Russian government cutouts to get illegally hacked dirt on a former US Secretary of State and Presidential nominee. Erm...hold on. Um...OH Gates for money laundering, lying to the FBI, and also being in contact with Russian intelligence services while helping to run a US Presidential election! Gah- no that's not it either.....

Oh yeah, Christopher Steele for discovering a massive campaign by the Russian government to meddle in the US elections and, according to his sources, the fact that they were working with a US Presidential nominee to help them get elected in exchange for relieving Russian sanctions...and then having the audacity to go to the United States FBI to warn them of what was going on.

And...now threatening to impeach a sitting US President who has repeatedly tried to fire the Special Counsel investigating him and is doing everything in his power to undermine the justice system to escape any prosecution.

Oh...no, sorry, they're threatening to impeach the Deputy Attorney General who is overseeing said investigation.

Has there ever been a more patriotic, law and order party?

I honestly think that depends on whether the Dems can take the House this cycle.

One of the most consequential differences between this and the Nixon years is the lack of public hearings. Republicans still clung to Nixon until the bitter end (until the tapes),but the fact that there were public hearings meant the country more or less knew what was going on.

In this situation, the public only knows what they are told about what's going on. And for half of the country- they're being given an extremely distorted version of events crafted for partisan aims, not out of a desire for truth. And those sources have convinced this half of the country that all non-partisan sources are secretly liberal lies, fact checkers who disagree with them are in on the conspiracy, and that the only objective nonpartisan version of the truth they can get comes from these same conservative outlets that work for partisan gain.

It's creating a situation that is increasingly, and problematically, resilient to the truth.

One of President Donald Trump’s longtime legal advisers said he warned the president in a phone call Friday that Michael Cohen, Mr. Trump’s personal lawyer and close friend, would turn against the president and cooperate with federal prosecutors if faced with criminal charges.

Mr. Trump made the call seeking advicel from Jay Goldberg, who represented Mr. Trump in the 1990s and early 2000s. Mr. Goldberg said he cautioned the president not to trust Mr. Cohen. On a scale of 100 to 1, where 100 is fully protecting the president, Mr. Cohen “isn’t even a 1,” he said he told Mr. Trump

Geez, a grown man sitting around copying the responses of some truly damaged internet trolls because he really wants to fit in?

    That's bleak.

I really hope your daughter never finds out about this.
