Totally agree with your pendulum analogy. Obviously the best way to get the momentum to swing back in your direction is to move ones policy back to center.

It's going to take a lot for the Democrats to gain the blue collar vote back, impeachment proceedings will drive that voting block even further away.

Pence also knew about the Russian contacts with the Trump campaign but never once went to the FBI despite the fact that he swore on a Bible to uphold the Constitution faithfully and to protect the US from its enemies.

Pence seems like just another self-serving politician who believes in his own purity more than Jesus.

PB made a pretty insane argument that people who voted for Clinton in the primary are somehow more responsible for Trump's election than the people who actually voted for Trump (I laughed a little), but he WAS right that if Sanders had been the nominee he probably would have won. The recent indictment of the 13 Russians supports that.

Firing Mueller wouldn't end the special investigation and it wouldn't disband the grand jury.

No, but if he thinks Republicans in Congress will rush to his defense- he may think it's worth it.

If he thinks he's guilty of something that Mueller is likely to figure out, there's no way he would just sit back and wait for the inevitable. That's not his style. Impulsive, self-destructive decisions are though.
