He was obviously a hot head. Quite frankly if the way he treated that guy was the way he treated his soldiers, he doesn't need to be in the Army.

Going to be interesting if the reports of women being sexually assaulted in that neighborhood by a black man turn out to be him.

This is why I'm going to give this story at least a couple of weeks. Normally I would say give these stories 24 hours for all the facts to come out but given the January 6th "insurrection" nonsense apparently we need to give it a month or more before the facts come out.

We obviously can't see what lead up to the confrontation, but I'm guessing he may have been a stranger to the neighborhood and lingered longer than he should have. But I would also imagine it didn't need to escalate to how the Army guy is handling it. I always go back to Swayze in Roadhouse "I want you to be nice, until it's time not to be nice." Ask the guy if he needs help because he's been there awhile and you don't recognize him. If he gives what seems to be a common sense answer, then give him a chance. If he continues to linger for too long given whatever answer he gave you or if he doesn't respond with the same respect you showed him or you have additional concerns, go inside and call the police. It doesn't seem that hard. What it does seem like is that too many people today are too interested in starting drama for drama's sake, on both sides.

From what I've read the black guy lives in an adjacent neighborhood close by. The army guy hasn't even lived in the neighborhood a year, so he moved in during Covid, I would be surprised if he knew all the community.

He could just be one of those night watch people that take their job way to serious, but the optics are pretty bad.
