I think that's kind of the point. It's super easy to ignore/untune the small amount of trolls, but he's claiming that it's the community at large that is somehow damaged and toxic. And he knows this because he's "an outsider" who is not damaged or toxic himself.

Yeah...this. It was weird enough when we were all kids, but the fact that some folks persist with this need to harass other players is sad.
What's even weirder is when the people doing it don't even play this game any longer.
