Reaching over your shoulder, you draw your witchwood staff from a series of straps on the back of your Faendryl war harness.

Gnarled and blackened, the staff's initial appearance is nothing more than a twisting branch of a witchwood tree. A forked branch atop the staff sits unadorned, bearing resemblance to a serpent tongue. You see nothing unusual, except for a small enchanter's glyph. A bright green essence lingers in the air surrounding your staff, emanating a loud hiss and obscuring any details of its surface.

This runestaff is infused with the power of Luukos, influencing the dead to assist the wielder assuming they are skilled enough to do so. Necromancy training and worship of the Lord Luukos will increase the potency of the staff. Those not well enough trained in the art of the dead, or those who worship the swine Voln or Lorminstra will find the staff painful, if not deadly to hold. The inherant powers of the staff can be subdued by CLENCHing the staff, and reactivated by the same action. The staff can also perform the following additional actions:

Clench - Toggle the passive powers and messaging on or off.
Point at Target - Direct all the eligible dead to attack the target creature. 1 Hour Cooldown.
Push - Consume a corpse in the room, empowering the staff's abilities for a short time. 1 Hour Cooldown.
Prod - Turn off ambient creature messaging.
You sense that the staff can be altered, bearing in mind it must remain dark and dedicated to Luukos.
Regular Flares (apparently I have enough necro lore (2x) + being a Luukos follower to where this flares almost every time. In fact, I don't think I've ever NOT seen this happen after killing something)
Immediately after killing something...
Necrotic haze lingering around you drifts down to your feet, collecting into the shape of an ethereal serpent. It slithers towards the corpse of a Grimswarm giant destroyer, surrounding it with noxious obscurity.
... if that happens and something else is alive in the room it either damages, stuns, knocks it to the ground, or immobilizes it...

The mist collects into the shape of an ethereal serpent as it slithers towards the corpse of a Grimswarm giant sorceress. The serpant opens its maw and envelops the corpse, consuming it and leaving no evidence of life behind.
The mist returns back to your witchwood staff, causing it to glow brightly before fading away.
The eyes of a Grimswarm giant raider corpse flare green as the body rises to an twisted standing position. With unnatural speed, the corpse lunges at a Grimswarm giant destroyer, clawing and biting at any flesh it can find as it slides to the ground.

Point Ability: This causes every dead corpse in the room to attack the thing you the point the staff at, 1 use every 1 hour. I later realized that if you empower the staff first, as shown above, the damage is even better in the following sequence.

Still haven't figured out all the zests and such, but those are the main abilities. This thing is an animal in swarms, invasions, warcamps. Every creature you contribute to, will get consumed by the staff upon death and will look for something to attack.
Apparently there is messaging when pointing the staff at players, haven't tried that yet.
