WASHINGTON (Reuters) - White House national security adviser John Bolton, who has in the past suggested the U.S. government should push for a change in government in Iran, said on Sunday that is not the Trump administration’s current policy.
“That’s not the policy of the administration. The policy of the administration is to make sure that Iran never gets close to deliverable nuclear weapons,” Bolton said on the ABC program “This Week.”
He gave a good answer to this saying that he's not a free agent anymore and his job it advise the President on the President's foreign policy; not to make foreign policy. That being said, we've heard this before and we ended up in Iraq saying that even though we couldn't find the WMD's that we used to sell this war, it was good to have regime change anyway.
