Runestaff user self-spelled DS

I realize that there are quite a number of variables(to put it mildly), but I am curious if there is a more-or-less average level of melee DS that a runestaff user should expect, self-spelled, with basic gear, at level 100.

It has been a long time, but if I remember correctly it is high 500's - low 600's

Good to know. I have suspected that a never-fixskilled-out-of archaic training plan had put me behind the eight ball. Maybe that is not the case, and many of the numbers I see from others are a combination of far-post-cap-training/ high enchant gear/ outside spells.
