ME3 was alright but felt like a 'greatest hits' album. The ending thing annoyed people because you spent a hundred hours over the past games fighting the reapers and making really huge decisions and sacrifices that were reflected in the game, and suddenly out of nowhere a kid appears and asks 'hey u wanna kill reapers, control reapers, or BE reapers?' and cue credits. It didn't take any previous decisions into account. It was a bizarre tonal shift.

But the game was over regardless. The ending sucked, but I don't judge the entire game off some cut scenes at the end of a game.

Its a tough position, up until the ending the game wasn't bad but then it wraps up with one of the shittiest endings of the decade.

It was a game about choices and then at the finale, none of your choices matter.

The ending plays a large part on people's final impression of a work. If you're reading a great novel with interesting stories and characters and it's building up to a great climax, then you turn to the last page and the author pulls a 'but it was all a dream' you'd be a little annoyed too.

To be fair, even when they're trying to make females look exactly like their RL model they typically suck at it.
