I have a library that I am constantly trying to fill with more things to read. If you have an interesting book, I'm probably interested.

In addition, I am looking for these Gloummerick books. They are not in any specific order although some of the more preferred ones are at the top of the list. Preference is strongly given for 2nd gen books instead of the initial release books, however I am interested in both types. New books are listed at the bottom.

I have only one copy which I will not part with, but here is the text which is admittedly is nothing special. However, the GM did design a nice tome:

You glance down to see nothing in your right hand and an engraved green mithril guidebook in your left hand.

Ornate engravings of rattlesnakes, sheep, warthogs, weasels, mountain goats, and snow leopards cover the green-grey surface of the antique mithril cover. Inlaid emerald pine needles form a border to the wild animals, and the title, "Beware the Obelisk -- A Ta'Illistim Travel Tip" has been engraved beneath the paws and hooves of the engraved wildlife. Underneath the title, in slightly smaller letters, more engraved letters read "By Askip".

In the green mithril guidebook you see a moss-stained pale parchment page, a moss-stained pale parchment page and a moss-stained pale parchment page.

An inch-wide moss-green stain borders the page, ending in a delicate fern-like pattern as it encroaches upon the neatly calligraphed letters. The brown ink used upon the page holds a faint copper gleam, which is particularly evident in the intricate scalework of the inked rattlesnake curling around the first letter.

There appears to be something written on it.

In the Common language, it reads:
Not far south of the Sapphire Gate to Ta'Illistim is a grove, through which an adventurer can explore and hunt the areas discovered during the Quest of the Four Brothers. The Emerald Forest, Gorget Trails, and Masked Hills are excellent for hunting, especially for those who can skin. Mountain Goat, Banded Rattlesnake, Bighorn Sheep, Warthog, Giant Weasel, and Snow Leopard all reside in the area.

These critters' hunting and fighting prowess range from about the same as Striped Warcats to Stone Giants, perfect for folks who are approaching their title and for some time beyond.

There can be, however, a dangerous pitfall in the area. The informed traveller must remember not to go too far. As you walk North by Northwest along the Masked Hills Hairline Ridge, the ridge will make a slight turn as it approaches the the peak. Do not go any further unless you have been a Legend for years.

In the Common language, it reads:
Just north is a black marble obelisk and the entrance, but not the exit, to Temple Wyneb, also known as Skull Temple. If you approach the obelisk while the entrance is being opened you are likely to get drawn into the temple. Inside, the monsters are at least as difficult as Fire Sprite or Red Tsark, and they are drooling to turn someone newly titled into newly dead.

So watch your step up there. Good luck and have fun.

A woman's graceful silhouette has been depicted in mithril upon the burnished scarlet cover. Her bowed head is shown in profile, finely detailed with long lashes, angular features, and several waist-length ringlets of hair slipping down from her shoulders. Tear-cut diamonds and intricate mithril traceries create the image of a delicate crown hovering above the woman's head. Below the train of the woman's gown, silvery letters read "The Fate of a Faendryl Princess, by Gowain Olberath".

Heavy bone-white pages fill the volume, but the vivid ornamentation on the vellum compensates well for the unexciting color. Inked golden diamonds with small scarlet starbursts at their centers border the left and right side of each page, while matching cerulean diamonds containing small silver starbusts have been painted along the top and bottom. Intricate flourishes characterize the sweeping black-inked script, and the first letter on each page has been silhouetted against the crest of House Faendryl.

Many counselled war, taking back what was rightfully theirs. Sounder minds prevailed, and a plan was decided to effect their desires. Chesylcha would marry into House Ashrim, the bloodlines would be reunited, and Faendryl would step thru this open door to Leadership.

Princess Chesylcha was sent to The Ashrim homelands, but never arrived.

The Faendryl became outraged, foul play was afoot, blaming the Ashrim for her death/dissapearance, war was declared, and the Ashrim became extinct. This is the documented lore, according to Elven scholars.

Chesylcha was a Faendryl Princess. Chesylcha was betrothed to an Ashrim prince. Chesylcha never arrived in Ashrim. War was declared and Ashrim was decimated. This is all accurate, and true, but what lies unanswered are circumstance and cause.

The truth begins here.

Upon hearing news of her Betrothal to House Ashrim, Chesylcha became frantic, depressed, and defiant. It would be impossible for her to marry into Ta'Ashrim, for Chesylcha was already in love with another. A Human slave, who carried only the name Anod. When the news of the impending marriage reached them, they became desperate, and made plans to escape.

Realising that a Faendryl elf and a Human counterpart would make little progress thru the Northeastern lands ruled by Ta'Vaalor, nor further south into the Heart of The Southron Wastes, the pair determined to flee northwest, into the wildlands, and as far away as they may travel to the sea.

The Faendryl were not oblivious to this treason, and the couple were chased across the continent. During the time of this search, Ta'Ashrim contacted the Faendryl, and demanded the wedding move along as scheduled.

Ta'Faendryl would not admit they had lost the bride, and sent the message that Chesylcha would be sent post-haste. It is presumed they anticipated the capture at any moment, and a few days further delay could be easily explained. Days turned into weeks, and Ta'Ashrim had not recieved thier princess. Ta'Faendryl would not admit the treachery, but instead took oppurtunity to accuse T'Ashrim of wrong-doing.

What of the Princess Chesylcha, and her human counterpart Anod? It is not without notice that todays Turamzzyrian Emporess Mynal'lyanna bears within her a trace of elven blood. Even the name Mynal'lyanna bears a striking Elven influence. While these words may be difficult to accept, read them and believe. Mynal'lyanna Anodheles is the direct decendant of Simlorn Anodheles, a human, and the first Overlord of Tamzyrr.

I own a copy of the ruby-inlaid white mithril book which contains separate sheets - the pages don't turn - which I assume means it's the first printing. I could be wrong though!

chalion: That looks like a second edition printing. Let me know if you're interested in parting with it.

Elvenlady: Yup, if the pages don't turn and are physical objects, then it is a first edition printing. While they're older by about a month, since they take up substantially more room they were never quite as desirable to most.

For a general rule of thumb, I'm willing to pay 500k for a second printing edition of the noted books, and 250k for a first printing edition (due to the need for more space). For a select few books, I'm willing to go higher due to the nature of the subject, the author, or other personal reasons.
