I had a similar problem for a while when playing on wifi. I solved it by changing the power setting of the wifi adapter.

These are the steps I took in windows 10:
1: Right click the wifi icon...

Waggle and passive-spellbot just continue to cast spells until I am out of mana regardless of the settings.
I have waggle set for a 90 minute max but it disregards and casts until I am out of mana....
