No, it is an Obama era policy. Trump is enforcing it. Obama did too. It is kind of funny that a lot of the pictures being distrusted concerning it are from 2012.

It is funny because the ATEP under Obama was more harsh than what Trump is doing. They used to separate the family and then fly the parent to some random place in Mexico.

There's nothing illegal about seeking asylum or refugee status. Nothing illegal about fleeing a country where you face persecution to find a safe harbor in another country.
