How's yours going? That's not me being a wise ass.

Not bad, but in lieu of losing weight, I seem to be trading fat for muscle. I guess it's an acceptable trade, but it feels like plateauing. I know from previous experience that it's not the case... but I hate not seeing numerical progress. Oh well- I will just keep working on it. Exercise has been consistent- when I am too sore to run, I walk. Working on diet... not dieting, just improving my actual diet. The hardest part is the planning ahead and not saying "fuck it, BK slop."
Anyway, my shin splints feel like they are going away. That's a bonus.
I can give you tips on diet if you want. PM me if you are interested. And trading muscle for fat is a very very good thing. Numerically, no, but I say don't weigh yourself frequently, if at all. Use a mirror. Use body fat measurements. But the scale isn't a good representation. Muscle requires more energy to feed just to have around. Having more muscle raises you BMR, or what most people call your metabolism. So what that means is sitting in your car, or even sleeping, you're burning more calories than you normally would. without even hitting the gym or running or walking.
Oh, and the soreness and shin splints, etc. are just your bodys way of complaining. Youre changing your normal routine and your body is going to protest for a bit. It will adjust and get used to it. You will get to a point where you'll get sore here and there but it won't be the same. I'm sure it is miserable now, but stick with it for a bit and i promise you it gets better. I used to be 40 lbs heavier. It's not easy and some days it will be really hard but it can be done and it will be worth it.
Meh, not too worried about the pain, honestly. When you avoid doctors like I do, pain is a daily companion.
Diet is an issue for me primarily because I rarely have food cravings. So I just sort of wait until I am famished and then do whatever is fastest- I suck at the forethought part of meal planning. I am working on it, though.
I have had to tighten my belt one hole. I rule.
Fingers just not working this weekend. Still managed to ride horses and take a long motorcycle ride anyway! Screw pain. :)
It just irritates me the way it is mindlessly repeated. Just like "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger"... yep. Except for debilitating, non-fatal diseases, that is...and traumatic experiences that lead to PTSD...
Pain is just pain- it is the brain's equivalent of a status/damage report.
