This happened to me once, except it was never able to start up again no matter what I (or the repair people) did. It turned out that the hard drive was completely fried. The fact that yours did eventually start back up is a good sign, but I'd recommend backing up anything important, just in case.Quote:

My ex-gf used to make great mac and cheese from scratch. Apparently the secret was using a cream and cheese mix for the sauce and heating it slowly on low heat so that the cheese didn't get lumpy. No idea if that's useful to you.
You're missing the secret ingredient to mac and cheese that makes it breath taking... love... that and five kinds of cheese, but it's probably the former more than the latter that makes my grandma's mac and cheese so insanely good.
Horrible leg cramp that woke me up out of a deep beautiful restful sleep and one of the most awesome and detailed dreams ever. I was in some quasi-Roman futuristic Washington DC but it had canals too and it was the dead of winter with so much snow, so it reminded me very much of St. Petersburg as well. It was so real that I was cold in my dream and it was a dry pleasant cold the kind that sinks into your bones because you have enough layers but you've just been outside too long so the surface of your skin is warm but your insides are cold from exposure. I was aware of the night sky being clear and that it was partially obscured by industrial fog drifting in from the south. I was aware that the person I gave money too was not very honest and not performing all of the services I wanted done for the money they were being given but it wasn't critical. The hotel behind the person in my line of sight was incredible. The architecture was like nothing I have seen in person, maybe only in pictures of Dubai or Saudia Arabia.
One second I was breathing out and looking at my breath in the air and giving someone some money and glancing over at the foot traffic on a bridge. Next second, my left calf was twitching and completely flexed and I was wailing and waking up in my warm comfy bed. I've never been unhappier to wake up in a warm comfy bed!
Assuming you did it making a roux, your likely problem was not putting enough milk into the flour/butter mixture or letting it heat for too long. Adding tomatoes is a good idea, but because they're acidic they should not be added until after the cheese sauce is done. They spelled it "rue" on the website, heh! So I learned LOTS of things today. I think I didn't put in enough milk. The recipe was sketchy on amount, telling you to eyeball it but it's hard to gauge correctly when you're not sure what you're looking for. And yeah, I was going to put the tomatoes on the top of everything when I put it in the oven. I'll look at Mr. Alton Brown's stuff, thanks!
Another frown. I think the laptop just died again, permanently. No amount of staring at it this time is making it find the operating system. And I wasn't done transferring stuff. So I'm using the living room TV computer and I think I'm going to get a serious headache staring at this thing for hours next weekend. The screen is simply too huge for keeping track of text for long periods of time. Easier to half size everything.
