I cannot stand Rent. A friend of mine in high school was in love with it. Caught a train over to NYC all the time to watch performances again and again and again. She insisted on going to see it for her birthday as well. It was painful. That smarmy, feel-good ending they tacked on feels like they just completely shit on the opera. I feel nothing but loathing for Rent.

I told my boyfriend why I was laughing ("People on the PC poking at me about my hatred of Rent") and he started singing that song. After I beat him mercilessly, he agreed that there would be no Rent in our house ever again.
I just don't understand. Rent's all happy good feelings. Why do you hate feeling happy good DEX?!
