He doesn't have secret service anymore. Presidents get it for life, but VPs only get it up to 6 months after their term.

I didn't know that. He likely still has some form of private security, I'd have to imagine. Biden is trying hard to 1) lean into the Cool Guy Diamond Joe image the Onion gifted him during the Obama administration and 2) become Democrat Trump and act tough and pray that it sways some people (along with him basically being a Republican to begin with)

Oh, he definitely has security. There are also likely local PD there too. He just doesn't have Federal protection.
