Getting irate by time wasted watching a subpar product is, in my opinion, a reasonable response.

Personal reasons like what, are you Japanese? Give me some hiragana tips!
Er...no. I was a transfer student in Japan for a while and developed some awesome friends. When I had to move back to the US I was bummed and as far as I could tell everyone I even had a casual acquaintance with was too. But I kept in contact with some of them to this day (10 year friends are fucking awesome) and when I read about stupid pissing contests between Japan and China I ask them and they are like "I really am ashamed to be Japanese sometimes" which is a fucked up thing.
Out of all the places I've been in my life, I really enjoyed my time in Japan.

Neat. How much of the language did you learn? My class starts in 3 days!
I only learned a few short phrases. Asking for directions, restroom, polite stuff too. I'd highly recommend the Rosetta stone program. I haven't heard a single bad thing or "I wasn't able to learn from it". It can be a pretty confusing language at times.
Then you see it written and you're like, "I'll speak it instead"
A surprisingly great tool that helps with hiragana, kanji, vocabulary and sentence structure is that "game" for the DS, My Japanese Coach. I use it whenever I need a refresher but it's for any beginning skill level. Plus, it's nice and portable so it's easy to whip it out and study when you've got an extra fifteen minutes in some random place.
I saw that game and thought it would make a good thing to have around but at the time it was like 60 bucks plus shipping. That was years ago though.
My Japanese coach? I'll check it out, thanks.
