This whole Trump presidency is like something out of The Onion.
It kind of depends. If Manafort's lawyers hid the cooperation from Mueller, then yes. If they didn't, then maybe not.
Though honestly, it appears as though Mueller was well aware of it (whether he let on to that fact or not). He may very well have played both Manafort and Trump for suckers on this.
Yeah, this is abuse of power in its worst form. A sitting US President fired people who were investigating him, floated presidential Pardons to key witnesses to try to keep them from signing cooperation deals, installed his own loyalist to run the investigation he couldn't seem to squash, and he's publicly musing about Pardoning his family, his staff, and himself.
And yet, 40% of this country is sitting around saying, "I just don't see the problem here. He's OBVIOUSLY innocent"
I never thought our country could sink this low.
I love when you guys get into a circle jerk and compliment each other.
In fairness, they're also being fed lies and deception from media outlets they trust. Look at the people on these boards- how many times have they cited articles from what turned out to be fake news sites and then just kept going back to them anyway? How many times have we heard them say "CNN and Washington Post are nothing but liberal bias lies!" while going back to Daily Caller, Drudge Report, Fox News, etc- publications that are extremely biased and play fast and loose with the truth?
People don't come that way. They're made to be that way. Yes it's everyone's responsibility to make sure they're living in reality, but it's also not fair that the outlets and politicians they genuinely trust are constantly pulling the wool over their eyes.
