Hehe, this reminded me of my cats. One is all lovey dovey, in my lap constantly, and could be characterized as high maintenance. The other could, at best, be described as "compliant". They'll be okay at your dad's for a few weeks, but I agree the situation is frown-making.

Kaz is just old and kinda lazy. She's my brother's cat technically, so she gets all lovey with him but not with me. Ember has been mine since I was 8, she was just a wittle kitten when I got her, she hasn't grown that much either >.> But she's my love munchkin. God. I'm a freaky crazy cat lady.

My cat is badass. He's HUGE. 36 pounds on a diet and all muscle with huge green people eyes. He's not at all evil. He's intelligent for a cat, aloof and beautiful to look at. Let me see if I can rez his pic of the day I saw him at the shelter.

Okay I guess he does look evil. Well when his eye arent glowing from flash they are hilariously expressive.
