I can't believe Republicans are about to make the worst electoral decision since they nominated Hoover for a second term. Hoover had a net loss of jobs during his term -- a feat not repeated by any President until Trump nearly 90 years later. Hoover tried to blame the economy on Mexican Americans, whom he wanted to deport. Hoover was thoroughly trounced in his race for a second term, taking both houses of Congress down with him. The losses were so bad that it was "the last time that an incumbent president lost re-election and his party lost control of both chambers of Congress in a single term until 2020."
