I sure do, and in this case it's because YouGov is one of the more laughable polling companies I'm aware of.

Shit just look at their 2016 polls.

They had Trump winning Ohio by a mere 1 point, he won by almost 8 points.

They had NC going to Hillary by 3 points, Trump won by almost 4.

They also had Hillary winning WI (4 points) and PA (2), and you know how those went.

I wouldn't trust YouGov to properly poll what I'm going to have for lunch tomorrow even if I send them an email outlining exactly what I'm going to have for lunch.

Do we help them by letting them drown in factless interpretations of the world around them? I ask that very seriously. Because increasingly the forces that create a Tgo are affecting all of us in unhealthy ways.

Mainstream conservative media has this formula they use- lots of fear-based messaging ("The gays! The immigrants! Black riots! They're all coming for you and your children!") but also an increasingly unhealthy lack of regard for facts and truth- and particularly the institutions that provide them. The narrative on the right is increasingly unnerving:

-You can't trust "mainstream media" (says the #1 news network on cable): CNN is "liberal", WaPo is "fake news"...the only "objective" reporting comes from outlets with an obvious conservative bias
-You can't trust the CBC- the gold standard in nonpartisan legislative analysis
-You can't trust Mueller
-You can't trust the Intelligence Agencies
-You can't trust FACT CHECKING sites
-You can't trust EDUCATION

"You can only trust us. Give us your loyalty...and ratings"

I get how that creates an army of Tgos (though I know plenty of conservatives who are well-informed and well-reasoned), but there is sort of that overarching question: given how big an impact this has on our ability to function as a country....can we really afford to just leave it alone? Doesn't that just put us all back in our respective bubbles with no ability to challenge inaccurate narratives with facts? Does that then leave US vulnerable to our own inaccurate narratives?
