Harris' comments were not brushed aside. I agreed with you that people should be called out if they are wrong, democrat, republican, independent, or whatever. But lets agree to not generalize an entire group of people for what 1 person does. Again, whether its democrat, republican independent, or whatevs.
Jesus, are you really still defending the stupidity of Democrats??
Here are some more quotes, so you don't just focus on Kamala Harris being the only dumb Democrat:
“Americans rely on this money to pay for essentials like rent, food, and childcare. These reduced refunds are yet another negative impact of the GOP’s tax law, and further indication that middle-class taxpayers weren’t a priority for President Trump and congressional Republicans who wrote the disastrous legislation.” - House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard Neal (D-Mass.)
“It looks like the Trump Treasury Department spent 2018, an election year, goosing people’s paychecks by under-withholding, and it should have been obvious that the bill would come due eventually,” Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden, D-Ore.,
“Many Americans depend on their tax refund to pay bills and make ends meet – but this tax season, working families will see smaller than expected returns and surprise tax bills because the Trump administration used smoke and mirrors in a shallow attempt to exaggerate the impact of their tax law on middle class families for political reasons,” -Chuck Schumer
"If you’re filing your taxes and got no refund, just remember: republicans gave the super rich and big business $1.5 trillion in tax cuts. That’s where your refund went." -Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr., of New Jersey
"Once again, American families are feeling the reality behind the empty promises of the GOP Tax Scam," -Nancy Pelosi
Granted.. once someone with a 6th grade level of understanding how taxes work educated these and many, many more really stupid Democrats.. most of the quotes suddenly were scrubbed.
Trump showing his understanding of trade deals while being being laughed at by the Chinese.
It started when Trump was asked by a reporter how long “memorandums of understanding” being negotiated with China over trade disputes would last.
Trump shot back: “I don’t like MOUs because they don’t mean anything.”
Lighthizer calmly corrected the president, and turned to explain to reporters: “An MOU is a contract. It’s the way trade agreements are generally [established]. It’s an actual contract between the two parties. A memo of understanding is a binding agreement.”
He added: “It’s detailed, it covers everything. ... It’s a legal term; it’s a contract.”
“I disagree,” said a scowling Trump, causing top Chinese negotiator Vice Premier Liu He to laugh. “A memorandum of understanding is exactly that: It’s a memorandum of what our understanding is,” he said, circling his hands in the air. “How long will that take to put into a ... contract?”
Honestly I didn't know what a "memorandum of understanding" was so I had to watch the video in question and look up the term.
Sure sounds like Lighthizer was indeed wrong because there are big differences between an MOU and a contract, they are not the same thing. Everything I could find on the subject states an MOU is just barely above a genleman's agreement (a mere handshake), sometimes MOUs is just an intent between two parties to enter into a formal contract. But I see some in the media are having a field day with this story because it seems they too have no idea what an MOU is and just assumed Trump must be wrong.
In the video Trump very clearly states he wants a contract, not an MOU, and the two mean very different things.
Yeah, a MOU is to clarify a position. It doesn't invoke any sort of obligation by either said.
I understand that you blah blah, as you understand that we blah blah.
As opposed to on a contract where I will blah blah, and you will blah blah.
Nothing says a solid negotiation like the other party laughing at you and your trade chief. Doesn't matter who is right, they're being laughed at by the other party.
